For the 20th anniversary edition of Empire Magazine, not only did they have Steven Spielberg as they’re guest editor and reunite The Goonies, they also did some wonderful photos of famous movie stars recreating famous scenes with a modern twist. The photos featured people like Arnold Schwarzenegger recreating his some Terminator poses, Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins doing Silence of the Lambs and Simon Pegg and Nick Frost re-enacting Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.
Empire have now collated all these images and given them to us in a lovely gallery which shows them off properly. Some of these were available before today but now all 30 images are there.
I think I’m going to create a collage of them all because they’re too good to be kept on the Internet. They need to be displayed on a wall!
Head over to Empire to check them all out. »

Prepare for nerdgasm in 3... 2... 1... Commence!
Today's Daily TwitPic may not appeal to the entire Twilighter contingent reading this blog, but it will definitely appeal to fanboys and fangirls who appreciate marauding killer robots from the future and storytellers from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, California's own Gubernator, got to meet none other than George Lucas, creator of the "Star Wars" franchise. A Terminator and Jedi Master, going head-to-head. The picture is relatively tame, considering the great power these two men possess. I like to think that they're sizing each other up, preparing for some great battle. "Star Wars" would win naturally, since the ability to destroy -- or in Terminator's case, enslave -- a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force. It would be a hella cool showdown though. Hella cool.

Sylvester Stallone's upcoming action flick "The Expendables" promises movie goers that it's going to be packed with balls-to-wall mayhem and why wouldn't it be? The film has a star-studded cast that includes Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mickey Rourke, Brittany Murphy, Dolph Lundgren, Danny Trejo, Eric Roberts, Steve Austin, Terry Crews and much more! All that we know about the film so far is that a team of mercenaries head to South America on a mission to overthrow a dictator. To overthrow a dictator? Now that just sounds like there's gonna be endless ass kicking! Needless to say, I can't wait for the film to hit theaters. Read on to check out a few character posters from the film.

Former "Family Ties" mom Meredith Baxter attracted quite a few tweets when she came out on the "Today Show" this morning. Seth Meyers and Steve Agee, among others, took notice while a few others were still occupied with Tiger Woods.
Kevin Smith has been fielding posts about the title of his movie "A Couple of Dicks," which is getting a new, yet-to-be-determined title. I've included one of his tweets on the subject after the jump along with a former president introducing Jason Reitman's new film, Arnold Schwarzenegger's run-in with George Lucas and Paris Hilton's birthday message to Britney Spears. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for December 2, 2009.

To celebrate their 20th birthday, Empire Magazine invited a whole ton of actors and actresses to ever-so-briefly reprise their most iconic roles for a pretty cool photo shoot. Curious to see what Arnold Schwarzenegger would look like now if he donned those famous black sunglasses and threw on his best badass pose for a photo in front of a motorcycle? Or what about wanting to see Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster reunited for the first time since the Oscar-winning Silence of the Lambs?
Other cool photo ops include Mel Gibson wearing face paint in honor of Braveheart, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost looking back at Shaun of the Dead, Christian Bale returning to his American Psycho days, Ben Stiller showing us all that Zoolander totally deserves a sequel, Gerard Butler giving us his best 300 roar, Laurence Fishburne calling back Morpheus and more. It's a pretty cool idea, even if Tom Cruise »

Arnold Schwarzenegger inducted a string of celebrities into the California Hall of Fame on Tuesday night, including Star Wars creator George Lucas, murdered gay rights activist Harvey Milk, and novelist Danielle Steel.
The state's Governor and his wife Maria Shriver chose the 13 inductees from a list of 20 candidates and presented the awards at a star-studded ceremony in Sacramento, California.
Milk, whose life was turned into an Oscar-winning 2008 biopic, was honoured for his contribution to the fight for gay rights, and his nephew, Stuart Milk, was on hand to pick up the prize.
Lucas and Steel were also inducted and will see profiles of their work go on display at The California Museum in Sacramento for the next year. Lucas' exhibit includes models of his famous Star Wars robots R2-D2 and C-3Po. »

Some readers might be under a misconception regarding the upcoming Robert Rodriguez’ Predators: namely, who the director is. Despite his name being prominently featured in the title, it’s not Rodriguez who’s in the director’s chair. Rather, it’s Nimrod Antal, perhaps best known for the 2007 suspense film Vacancy.
Predators is due out next summer, but until then, Antal has another movie set to hit theaters: the crime thriller Armored starring Matt Dillon, Lawrence Fishburne and Jean Reno. Meanwhile, his debut feature Kontrol was a comedy thriller set on the Budapest Metro.
The fact that none of his other films was particularly special effects-driven might make Antal seem an odd fit for Predators. But in an interview with ComingSoon.net, Antal said he and Rodriguez were able to find a happy medium, despite his preference for doing things in-camera and the latter’s reliance on CG animation. »

When producer Robert Rodriguez declared his new film Predators a direct sequel to Predator (and ignoring Predator 2), many were expecting the sort of beefy cast that was assembled for the 1987 original. So, when it was first announced that Academy Award-winning actor Adrien Brody was cast in the lead role, the reactions of fans and critics were not overwhelmingly positive.
One of the more scathing responses to the news came from Jarett Wieselman of The New York Post who wrote: If I was combing through a crowd of actors for one I could trust to get me to the chopper, I'd blow right past Adrien Brody and keep holding out for a hero.
In a recent interview with Coming Soon, Predators director Nimród Antal explained his decision to cast Brody by saying that he wanted his soldiers to look more authentic than the original's cast.

Nimród Antal is in the middle of shooting Predators for 20th Century Fox and producer Robert Rodriguez, but the director recently took the time to do a phone interview promoting his third movie, Armored.
ComingSoon was able to ask about this weekend’s release and squeezed a few details about the Predator franchise relaunch due out July 2010.
Aside from the Hungarian name, the filmmaker has taken some flack for casting Oscar-winner Adrien Brody in the lead for the next in a series accustomed to the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Here’s what Antal had to say in his own defense. “It was a challenge in finding a balance. I think when we cast Adrian, there were a lot of people going, ‘What?’ but at the same time, if we cast a Vin Diesel in that role or if we cast anyone who is Arnold-esque, we would have been attacked for doing that. »

There’s no doubt that when James Cameron made the first Terminator movie in 1984 he figured on telling his story and moving on. Little did he know that 25 years later, it would remain a cultural touchstone spawning sequels, a television series, books, comics, and stuff.
Wisely, Cameron also knew when it was time to move on. Coaxed back for the sequel, he delivered a high-octane action thriller that also pushed the limits of movie technology as we marveled at some of the earliest CGI that had our collective jaws drop.
After the ownership got passed around like a bowl of potato chips, The Halcyon Company now controls the destiny of SkyNet and their progeny. Earlier this year, they offered up Terminator Salvation, moving the story to right after Judgment Day in 2018, but before someone thought to send Kyle Reese back in time. The fourth feature, therefore, is both a sequel »

There was a lot of speculation about who would be cast as the lead in Predators, the Robert Rodriguez-produced, Nimród Antal-directed follow up to the classic John McTiernan / Arnold Schwarzenegger action flick Predator. (Do I really have to spell all that out? Probably not.) When Adrien Brody was announced, more than a few people (including me) went, 'huh?' Now, for the first time since the project began, Antal is talking about the film and his casting choices. Speaking to ComingSoon, Antal says of Brody: "I think when we cast Adrien, there were a lot of people going; 'What?' But at the same time, if we cast a Vin Diesel in that role or if we cast anyone who is Arnold-esque, we would have been attacked for doing that...He plays a mercenary in the film and if you look at the guys in Iraq and Afghanistan today, »

Sometimes it's hard for me to believe that "Predators" is actually happening, especially when names like Robert Rodriguez, Nimrod Antal and Danny Trejo are thrown into the mix. But it's happening. Heck, it's already started.
Antal, the director of "Predators" and this weekend's "Armored," spoke with Coming Soon about the project recently and revealed that shooting has already occurred in Hawaii.
In the interview, Antal defended the controversial casting of Adrien Brody as the film's lead, which some fans reacted against due to the actor's lean physique — a far cry from the Arnold Schwarzenegger of yesteryear.
"Again, it was a challenge in finding a balance," he said. "I think when we cast [Adrien], there were a lot of people going, 'What?' but at the same time, if we cast a Vin Diesel in that role or if we cast anyone who is Arnold-esque, we would have been attacked for doing that. »

Adrien Brody is not what most people think of when words like “action hero,” “bad ass” or “cool” are thrown around. But maybe it should?
Brody, along with a cadre of other stars, is cast in the upcoming Predators film from Robert Rodriguez protege Nimród Antal. The director sounded off on the controversial pick for the film’s lead and tells readers that this is the face of the new hero. Wanting a muscle-bound “Ah-nuld?” Get with the times!
“I think when we cast Adrien, there were a lot of people going, ‘What?’ but at the same time, if we cast a Vin Diesel in that role or if we cast anyone who is Arnold-esque, we would have been attacked for doing that,” Antal claimed. “So we decided early on to go in a very different direction as far as the casting process, but it turned out fantastic.”

In October, it was announced that Adrien Brody is among the cast for "Predators". Recently, director Nimrod Antal sat down with Coming Soon to talk about the upcoming extraterrestrial thriller film as well as the reason in choosing the Academy Award-winning actor instead of a big guy like Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was the lead actor in the original movie series.
"I think when we cast Adrien, there were a lot of people going, 'What?' but at the same time, if we cast a Vin Diesel in that role or if we cast anyone who is Arnold-esque, we would have been attacked for doing that," Nimrod claimed. "So we decided early on to go in a very different direction as far as the casting process, but it turned out fantastic."
