Add another face to the "Sex and the City 2" lineup: Penelope Cruz confirmed she will be appearing alongside Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda.
While Cruz told StarPulse she spent half a day shooting her scenes, she was coy when it came to exactly what she'll be doing.
Here's hoping she has a meatier part than fellow "Sex and the City 2" co-star Miley Cyrus, who will do little more than react to Samantha (Kim Cattrall) in a red-carpet setting.
Tim Gunn and Liza Minelli are also rumored to be making cameos in the "Sex" sequel.

The first official film stills have been released for next year’s glitzy girl-power sequel, Sex and the City 2. Starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon and Chris Noth, the film is a follow up to last year’s long-awaited Sex and the City movie.
The new images (which can be seen below), feature Sjp as columnist Carrie Bradshaw looking pretty glam in white and Noth as her (now) husband, Mr. Big.
Very little is known at this point about the film, however following recently leaked images of Kim Cattrall’s man-eating character Samantha Jones in a wedding dress have led some (including me) to speculate on whether the PR queen has finally found a man to make her an honest woman – Smith Jarrod maybe?
Sex and the City 2 struts into cinemas Spring 2010, check out the new images below:

Sarah Jessica Parker tells Glamour that "Sex and the City 2" is more fun than the first "Satc" movie -- this one is a romp with a really fun story.
Parker says, "The first movie had a lot of sadness in it, and it was very brave about breaking the rules of romantic comedy. This one is very much the antidote for that: It's a romp. It's about the idea of women's and men's roles in marriage, and old traditions versus new ones. The story is really fun, but it's also about something."
She goes on to talk about new movie "Did You Hear About the Morgans" (she wanted the role because of Hugh Grant), her status as style icon ("that's hilarious") and balancing motherhood with her career (she doesn't want her kids to have a sense of entitlement).

Indie Roundup gathers a selection of indie film news from the past seven days and offers a peek ahead to what's coming.
Deal. Do not despair that the first month of the new year will be filled solely with the expansion of award contenders. Distribution rights in the Us for Sweetgrass have been acquired by The Cinema Guild, according to indieWIRE, and the documentary will open at Film Forum in Manhattan on January 6, followed by a rollout across the country.
Directed by Ilisa Barbasch and Lucien Castaing-Taylor, Sweetgrass "follows the last sheepherders to trail their flocks up into Montana's Beartooth mountains for summer pasture," per its official synopsis. After debuting at the Berlin Film Festival last year, the doc played the festival circuit quite successfully, picking up positive critical notices. Check out the splendid trailer in all its quiet, chud-chewing glory after the jump.

Victoria Beckham, Miley Cyrus, Penelope Cruz. With the exception of all being A-List stars, the trio have very little else in common – that is of course except for a certain shoe known as Manolo Blahnik and a certain glitzy film sequel known as Sex and the City 2. All three have been tipped at one time or other to feature in the sequel to 2008’s Sex and the City, but until now getting confirmation has been difficult to say the least.
Speaking at a recent press junket for her latest film, Broken Embraces, Cruz made things a little easier for film fans by not only confirming her participation, but explaining her decision to join the fab four in the film, due out next year:
“That’s a little cameo that I did. I shot for half a day. I did a cameo because I’m a very big fan of the show, »

Kim Cattrall is preparing to sex up the art world again - she's stripping off for a second time to help keep a classic Renaissance painting in the U.K.
Last year, the Sex and the City siren shed her clothes to recreate Titian's Diana and Actaeon in a bid to raise awareness of the British National Gallery's campaign to stop the artwork being sold off to a private foreign bidder.
The sexy reenactment helped boost the £80 million (£50 million) needed to buy the piece on behalf of Britain - and now she's stripping again to keep another Titian work in the country.
Cattrall will pose naked again for a new take on the painter's Diana and Callisto canvas.
The actress, who was born in England, was prompted to help with the cause after the Scottish government refused to pay for the artwork to remain in an Edinburgh gallery.
A rep for Cattrall says, "Kim is committed to do whatever she can to keep the second Titian on public view." »

The Sex And The City star, who recently broke up with younger boyfriend Alan Wyse, said that women like her enjoy more in life than just sex. Cattrall is quoted by MSN as saying: "Cougar is passe. I think we're on to something else now. It's not about kitten or cougar - we're moving beyond those stereotypes. Kim Cattrall wants to make the most of being comfortable with sex. The 51-year-old actress - famed for her man-eating character Samanatha Jones in the 'Sex and the City' TV series and movies - says she's over the trend of older women dating younger men and thinks the stereotype of a so called "cougar" is dead. She said: "Cougar is passe. I think we're on to something else now. It's not about kitten or cougar - we're moving beyond those stereotypes. "It's about so much more than just being a woman on the prowl - there's a lot more going on than that. We've done the work, let's enjoy the party. Let's not limit ourselves to labels. Penelope Cruz has confirmed her cameo appearance in "Sex and the City 2" herself. During a press event for her upcoming musical "Nine", the 35-year-old beauty told MTV News that she will indeed be in the sequel to the 2008's "Sex and the City", but for a short time. "I'm in it for very, very little time," so she shared.
The actress who earned her first Academy Award from "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" went on to uncover that she won't be playing herself. When pressed whether her character will come in between Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie and Chris Noth's Mr. Big, she said, "It's not like that, [but] the scene is with the two of them."
Back in October, Cruz has been spotted joining the cast and crew of "Satc 2" to film her part as reported by People. The magazine claimed that the "Volver" star was dressed in a sexy »

Dana Delany has opened up about turning down the role of Carrie in “Sex and the City.” The actress and multiple Emmy winner, who first hit it big as Nurse Colleen McMurphy on “China Beach,” is enjoying currently stardom again on “Desperate Housewives.” But the “Desperate” star also passed on the role of Bree on the hit ABC show before agreeing to play newbie housewife Katherine. Delany told the L.A. Times: “I'd hate to be thought of as the person who turns everything down,” and says she has an explanation for how she goes about choosing roles. Turns out that the Irish-American actress was simply trying to avoid type casting. “[‘Desperate Housewives’ creator Marc Cherry] had offered me the role of Bree, but I had just done ‘Pasadena,’ and I thought the role was too similar to that, and I don't really like to repeat myself,” she said. “I've never ever been in this for the money. »

For those with a hunger for haute couture, next year’s Sex and the City 2 promises to be a feast of fashion. Of course, we wouldn’t expect any less from Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and her elegant allies, Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and snaps from the movie’s New York set (production has now moved to Morocco) have delivered many of the usual labels – Christian Louboutin (bag and shoes, pictured), Yves St Laurent and Christian Dior to name but three. We've been nodding our heads like yeah to our new guilty pleasure, "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus for a couple months now, but it turns out Miley's not ashamed to say she has no idea what she's singing about. In the same interview where she chatted about sharing a dress with Kim Cattrall, Miley admitted she's never even heard a Jay-z song in her life. When asked what song inspired the line, she said, "I don't know, I didn't write the song so I have no idea. Honestly, I picked that song cause I needed something to go with my clothing line, I didn’t write it. And it wasn’t something that, like, I even expected to be popular, originally. It was just something that I wanted to do, I needed some songs, and it turned out for the best. I've never heard a Jay-z song. I don't listen to pop music. »
