Jack Nicholson and Danny DeVito have landed a hometown honour - the Hollywood actors are the latest additions to the New Jersey Hall of Fame.
The pair, who both grew up in Neptune City, New Jersey, headed up a list of 15 stars set to be inducted, which also includes Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon, guitar great Les Paul, singer Frankie Valli and author Judy Blume.
Other inductees for 2010 include former U.S President Woodrow Wilson and Olympian Carl Lewis.
The stars will be officially elected to the Hall of Fame at a ceremony in May. »

Great Scott!! Very few actors are blessed enough to earn the status of cult icon for just one thing, which makes the career of Christopher Lloyd all the more amazing. As well as starring alongside Jack Nicholson in the movie adaptation of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Lloyd also appeared in Danny DeVito sitcom Taxi, as Uncle Fester in both Addams Family movies and as the terrifying Judge Doom in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. What he's best known for is, of course, his three Back To The Future movies as the irrepressible Doctor Emmett Lathrop Brown. We caught up with The Doc (and newly-crowned Digital Spy Icon) ahead of the release of new kids' movie Santa Buddies. You've been in a lot of really well-loved work - do you consider yourself something of a cult icon?

I’ve seen several episodes, and now I’ve watched the Christmas special, and I might as well face facts: I have no idea what to make of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. I don’t especially care for any of the characters (indeed, except for the obvious eccentrics, they all seem to be nearly interchangeable with one another), the writing and direction strikes me as somewhat obvious and sloppy, and character progress from episode to episode is virtually nonexistent. On the other hand, it is consistently funny, and not just in a they-timed-that-well kind of way, but an honestly, remembering-it-days-later kind of way. I can’t say that it’s for everybody, but if you haven’t given it a shot yet, you might want to.
The show is set primarily in Paddy’s Pub, a working class bar in Philadelphia, which is co-owned by Mac (Rob McElhenney »

It's always great to see "Twilight" cast members getting along off-screen, and there were a couple of shout-outs bouncing around the Twitter-Wood feed today. Edi Gathegi wished Christian Serratos could be with him on a plane ride, but he had to settle for her advice on candy shenanigans. Elsewhere, Tinsel Korey sought Chaske Spencer's glitter skills in some Advent calendar construction.
In non-"Twilight" tweets "I'm on a Boat" seems to be a popular pick among the Grammy nominations this year, and Seth Meyers was among the first to back it. Michael McKean, meanwhile, will be pulling for Bela Fleck and Loudon Wainwright. Check out those posts after the jump, along with Richard Kelly's new prospective "Donnie Darko 3" premise and Danny DeVito's Thanksgiving Troll Foot costume. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for December 3, 2009.

Folks, this was my first exposure to the show “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia”. I had no ill will toward the show in any way, but never felt the desire to make it through an episode. I’d heard wonderful things and can usually find some entertainment in the form of Danny DeVito. Still, with all the rave reviews and good buzz, I was yet to be persuaded. Well, as this job would have it I finally crossed paths with the show via this Christmas special.
And truth be told, I was entertained. Some gags fail and the show’s offensive nature is a double-edged sword, but I often found myself at least amused by what was presented. This special seems set on mocking every Christmas story ever told and often succeeds in this quest. Even the old Rankin/Bass specials are not spared in a hilarious manner that features a spinal cord hanging. »

The Welsh-Moroccan powerhouse is lining up a comedy à clef of his stripping days, while Susan Boyle's brother reckons Kathy Bates might be the woman for the Scottish singer's story
The Full Monty was a decent film and all, but it wasn't perfect. Where, for instance, was the troupe of irrepressible breakdancing children? Where were all the oddly patterned shirts? And why, for God's sake, wasn't Robert Carlyle's character a Welsh/Moroccan former goat herder with a catchphrase based on his profound inability to grasp the concept of chronology?
Well, fret no more. All of those problems are about to be ironed out. And, somewhat distressingly, Chico from X Factor is the one who'll be doing the ironing. He's co-written a film with a man who Wikipedia claims is his lodger. It's called Lunchbox. It's a "raunchy comedy about a stripping troupe on tour in Europe". It's based on Chico's own life. »

Even from its pilot episode, “The Gang Gets Racist”, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia has been one of the most mean-spirited and offensive shows on television. It’s also been one of the funniest, and it’s only gotten funnier, as well as more mean-spirited and offensive, over the last four seasons. Now in its fifth season, the show has become one of FX’s biggest hits and they’ve even released a special Christmas episode, A Very Sunny Christmas, which is available now on DVD, Blu-ray, and digital download.
Stars and co-creators Glenn Howerton (who plays Dennis Reynolds) and Rob McElhenney (who plays Mac) recently sat down for a conference call where they talk about the show’s success, the controversy surrounding the episode “The Great Recession” which prominently featured Dave & Busters and Coors Light, how they came to create A Very Sunny Christmas, and more. Chicago – Yes, comedy fans, there is a Santa Claus, and he’s here early with a raunchy, gleeful take on holiday traditions courtesy of Rob McElhenney, Kaitlin Olson, Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, Danny DeVito, and the twisted writers of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: A Very Sunny Christmas”.
Blu-Ray Rating: 2.5/5.0
Essentially, “A Very Sunny Christmas” is a pair of episodes (it runs about that length) crammed into a straight-to-dvd special and timed for the peak of the current TV season and the holiday one. The current season of FX’s hit show has been pretty hit and miss with some wildly inconsistent episodes in between a few series highlights (two words - kitten mittens). Not surprisingly, the Blu-Ray release of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: A Very Sunny Christmas” is basically of the same caliber of the current season. In other words, if you’ve been disappointed in the show lately, »

This Thanksgiving, M&C TV is thankful for FX.s programming; .Sons of Anarchy. for drama, and .It.s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. for comedy. .It.s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. has grown like a sturdy weed and flourished on the network that gives it plenty of room to skewer all the topics of the day with a band of merry sad bastards. Season five was capped off by a very noir-silly Christmas tale that shows off not only the glistening rump and loins of a naked Danny DeVito, but the comedic chops of Kaitlin Olson as Sweet Dee. Olson has percolated to comedic heights in The Gang of Paddy.s Pub. Without her the show would fall flat. Sweet Dee »

In its fifth year on FX, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has become more popular than ever before. Many are calling this season the funniest yet, with each new episode becoming an instant classic within the Sunny lexicon. The Paddy's Pub gang has hit their stride, and they certainly show no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Last week, we chatted with Rob "Mac" McElhenney and Glenn "Dennis" Howerton about their just released holiday DVD A Very Sunny Christmas. In turn, we were bombarded with even more questions from the show's many fans. Now, with just one more episode before Sunny's explosive season five climax, series creator Rob McElhenney has agreed to answer some of those burning inquiries himself. Calling in from his holiday road trip for a special Thanksgiving chat, here is the one and only Mac*:
Something weird happened since I talked to you last week. Something that has never happened before. »

Listen up hi-def humbugs and Blu-ray Scrooges! This is the year you'll not just want, but need, to buy a new hi-def plasma screen and a shiny black Blu-ray player for Christmas (and/or whatever other holiday you choose to celebrate with lavish gifts). Why? Because this technology has reached its performance plateau. And it is finally at a reasonable price most of us can afford. Not only that, it serves as the one prefect gift the entire family can enjoy together. With more Blu-ray titles being released right now than ever before, there simply couldn't be a better time to dive head first into this leading technological platform.
But wait! There's one thing you don't want to overlook after all that exciting new equipment has been unwrapped. Without a stack of Blu-ray discs strategically placed in each family member's stocking with care, your gorgeous new HD flat screen becomes a delectable serving tray, »

Writers: Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton, Charlie Day Studio/Run Time: Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, 42 mins. Starring: McElhenney, Howerton, Day, Danny DeVito, Kaitlin Olsen A bloody, sweaty treat for It’s Always Sunny fans For a traditional sitcom, a Christmas special may seem as gimmicky as the requisite retail décor, as impersonal as the gift of fruitcake. But in the spirit of the season, A Very Sunny Christmas is delivering more than the usual gifts of status quo contempt. As Frank dodges the siblings’ ghosts of Christmas past, present and future, Charlie and Mac realize that their childhood celebrations involved theft... »

Danny DeVito has vowed to press ahead with plans to make a new movie about U.S. fraudster 'Crazy Eddie' Antar - despite discovering he could be sued if the electronics retailer is paid to participate.
Antar built a hugely successful chain of stores across the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut area throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
He fled to Israel in 1990 amid claims he'd ripped off shareholders - but returned to stand trial in 1993 and was convicted and jailed for two years in 1997.
DeVito teamed up with Antar to take his tale to the big screen, but his plans angered the fraudster's victims, who vowed to launch a lawsuit if Antar profits from the project.
Antar, now 61, has been forced to step aside, but the actor/director insists his departure won't derail the film.
DeVito tells the New York Daily News, "He's cool about it. I know he wants the story told, even if he's not part of the project." »

Oprah's announcement that her show may end its 25-season run in 2011 was almost enough to unseat "New Moon" as the top trending topic of the Twitter-Wood feed today. Kevin Nealon and Wil Wheaton both had a opinions on her possible bow out of syndication, while Eli Roth and Kevin Smith helped keep "Twilight" alive in Twitter conversation.
Two big names celebrated birthdays last night in very public fashion, as P. Diddy entertained a few folks on my follow list and Larry King got a little rowdy in my pick for Twitter Pic of the Day. I love hearing stories about how certain stars auditioned for certain roles and didn't get them. What would the show/movie have been like if they were cast in it instead of the person who eventually got the role? For example, did you know that Danny DeVito was almost cast as Serena on Gossip Girl?
Here's another tidbit: Ugly Betty star Eric Mabius auditioned for the role of Peter Petrelli on Heroes. It's not really clear whether he didn't get the role because Milo Ventimiglia got it or if producers of Ugly Betty grabbed him for the role of Daniel Meade before Heroes producers could sign him up. Whatever happened, he's now playing the head of Mode magazine while Ventimiglia is absorbing people's superpowers.
The interview above is rather interesting. Mabius has moved back to Massachusetts with his family (he met his wife here while in college and wants to »

That headline ain't kidding. This morning's Daily TwitPic isn't the sharpest image you'll ever see. It may well be one of the blurriest. But it's also Danny DeVito celebrating his birthday -- yes, that's a candle-covered cake -- with Johnny Depp and Patti Smith.
DeVito and Depp at least were both in New York City this week for the exhibition opening of Tim Burton's career retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art. The trio are joined at their table by what is identified as "Troll Foot." If you look carefully, to the left of the cake, you can see it: a bare foot. If you follow DeVito then you know that he's got a weird fascination with tweeting images of his "Troll Foot." See for yourself after the jump.
Remember to check out Brian Warmoth's Twitter-Wood column every day for an early jump on your Daily TwitPic.

It comes as no surprise that supporting cast members in "New Moon" would try to splinter off their own factions in the endless "Team Edward vs. Team Jacob" debate, but it looks like BooBoo Stewart's got at least one backer for Team Seth, judging from his TwitPic upload today. Tinsel Korey, meanwhile, remains firmly behind Team Jacob.
In non-"Twilight" posting today, Danny DeVito had a nice showing for his birthday last night, even if his picture wasn't high enough quality to make Twitter Pic of the Day. Neil Patrick Harris posted a new shot from the "How I Met Your Mother Set" and David Wain contributed a courtside view from the Lakers game. Check out all of those after the jump where you'll also find out which actress enjoys dancing to Lady Gaga and which actor claims he's the only one who didn't audition for "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. »

One of the sharpest, laugh-out-loud comedies on television is "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," and now the gang at Paddy's Pub have their very own Christmas special. The catch? It's exclusive to DVD and Blu-ray and it's in stores now. So what's it about? According to the studio, "Join Mac, Charlie, Dennis, Dee and Frank as they embark on a holiday adventure filled with stolen toys, childhood videos, naked elves, and a bloody run in with Santa Claus that is guaranteed to blast Christmas spirit all over you!"
To whet your appetite, we've got an exclusive clip from the bonus features which features director Fred Savage (yes, that Fred Savage) walking us through backstage, with a special appearance from Kaitlin Olson and Danny DeVito. Check it out below.
