Jonathan Rhys Meyers is set to star alongside Kevin Bacon in a new comedy, “Whole Lotta Sole.” The film will begin shooting in Belfast, Ireland in 2010. “The Tudors” star Rhys Meyers will play a thief who attempts to steal from a fish market, and takes Bacon’s character hostage in the process. According to Entertainment Tonight, the Irish actor’s character fights to stay one step ahead of both the police and a local gangster. “My Dog Skip” director Jay Russell has signed on to direct the comedy, which was written by Thomas Gallagher and “Hotel Rwanda” screenwriter Terry George. "This is a great comedy project, not like Terry's usual political fare,” Russell said. “It's very exciting to have one of the best young actors today, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, teamed up with one of the greats, Kevin Bacon." Men, if you find yourself forced into watching “Twilight” or “New Moon”, don’t panic. There is a way to survive. Be on the lookout for Ashley Greene, who plays some vampire lady, I wasn’t really paying attention because her character is not the point. The point is Ashley Greene is jaw-droppingly attractive and every time the camera looks at her the suffering momentarily ends. She is the life-saver which you must cling to for dear life. At the end of it all, you will thank the gods and the casting director for putting her in that franchise.
Today we have news that she’ll be starring in Dark Castle’s upcoming horror movie “The Apparition”, which means you won’t spend time between scenes praying she’ll show up. You just get to gaze upon her and let your adulation creep out others around you. Hit the jump to go Greene. »

While Pierre Morel's badass action thriller Taken was released internationally almost a year before it hit the Us, it didn't hurt it's eventual surprising box office victory and worldwide gross of $226 million. Now that Morel has given Liam Neeson amazing clout in the action arena (his next film being another action heavy story Unknown White Male), THR reports that the director has found his next project in Signals, an original thriller screenplay written by Richard Potter and Matthew Stravitz. While the story is being kept under wraps, it is said to be in the same vein as 1970's-era paranoid thriller Three Days of the Condor. While I'm frustrated with projects that don't reveal any plot information whatsoever, it's good to hear that the screenplay is at least an original one and not another adaptation (since we see those all too often). While Taken's formula was simplistic, Morel knew »

What are all those crosses on the highway, who puts them there and how do I build my own? An inventive documentary that pries open a Pandora.s Box of emotion Oscar nominated Liam Neeson (.Schindler.s List,. also .Michael Collins. and .Kinsey.) narrates this fascinating study into something completely different. Have you ever wondered about those crosses that show up along America.s (and the world.s) highways to commemorate victims of fatal accidents? Well, if not, this is the film for you. Because after this film you will never look at those innocuous crosses again. On the face of it the crosses are erected by state or national authorities as cautionary symbols. The idea is that when a driver passes by »

Bradley Cooper wanted to be in 'The A-Team' so he could beat people up.
The actor said he was looking forward to playing the character Face in the action film, and getting to dish out beatings, rather than being on the receiving end, as he did as character Will Tippin in Us series 'Alias'.
He said: "In 'Alias', I wasn't the action guy. I got the s**t beat out of me, got tortured a lot, lost teeth, became a heroin addict, and left after the second season. I was never on the giving end of it. But in The A-Team, I get that chance."
He also said he "w****d himself out" to director Joe Carnahan to get his part as smooth talking Face in the film, about a team of rogue military mercenaries.
Bradley said: "I heard they were doing it and »

I've been a fan of Pierre Morrel ever since his French parkour action film District B13 floored me back in 2005. The film was certainly imperfect, but looking at it purely as an action film you could tell that Morrel was someone to watch out for in the future. Several years later, he reminded us that Liam Neeson can still kick ass in Taken, and he's currently putting the finishing touches on his latest, From Paris with Love. We've also previously reported on two other projects he's working on. Now he's signed on for another feature, a paranoia thriller entitled Signals. The storyline is apparently a secret, but it's expected to take on the tone of conspiracy thrillers like Three Days of the Condor. I'll be honest and say that I don't even care what this film is about, I'm going to see it simply because of Morel's involvement. I'm hoping »

Pierre Morel, director of the wonderful guilty pleasure that is Taken, has signed on to direct Signals, a thriller that’s said to be in the same vein as Three Days Of The Condor. It won’t be the Frenchman’s follow-up to the hugely enjoyable Liam Neeson action thriller, which grossed $224 million globally. That’s From Paris With Love, an actioner starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers and John Travolta, which hits early next year.Since Taken took over the world, though, Morel has attached himself to a Tokyo-set thriller for Paramount, and Universal’s Pursuit. Whether Signals has jumped ahead in the queue remains unclear at this time. But the dude clearly has a thing for one-word titles.Richard Potter and Matthew Stravitz wrote the screenplay for Signals, the story of which remains under wraps for now. Media Rights Capital is stumping up the cash for the flick. »

Get it? Because Pierre Morel was the director on the surprise hit “Taken”? Yeah, sorry, had to do it. Anyways. French director Pierre Morel, a wanted man nowadays thanks to the runaway success of the Liam Neeson revenge picture, has signed on to direct the spy thriller “Signals”. This, after he’s signed on to direct the actioner “Pursuit” for Universal, and has the Luc Besson-produced film “From Paris with Love” scheduled out in 2010. Based on an original screenplay by Richard Potter and Matthew Stravitz, “Signals” is expected to be along the lines of the 1970s paranoid thriller “Three Days of the Condor” (below), though the film’s exact plot remains a secret. Why, I haven’t a clue, but I guess keeping something a secret in Hollywood is like being the hot girl who refuses to date anyone, despite clearly dressing up to be noticed. Everyone’s all »

Is French filmmaker Pierre Morel on his way to becoming one of my favorite action directors? He certainly seems to be barreling down that path. The Besson protege followed his fun futuristic parkour/martial arts flick Banlieue 13 (District 13) with the pure vengeance of Liam Neeson in Taken, and he has the Travolta spy movie From Paris With Love (which looks like a literal blast) awaiting release. Up next (potentially) is an original project called Signals, which is only described as a... »

Year: 2009
Directors: Steven Kastrissios
Writers: Steven Kastrissios
IMDb: link
Trailer: link (We're quoted!)
Review by: projectcyclops
Rating: 7 out of 10
Steven Kastrissios’ brutal revenge film The Horseman kicks off with a two men beating the living daylights out of each other, until one man is crippled, doused with petrol and roasted alive. The survivor calmly cleans himself up, changes clothes and drives off in his pest control van. This is Christian (played to the hilt by Peter Marshall), and through flash-backs we learn that his daughter was found dead after a porno shoot for a sleazy adult film company, run from the aptly named “BloodSports Gym”. He’s pretty pissed.
This Aussie film has a vibe very similar to the Liam Neeson action/revenge flick, ‘Taken’. Both are fast-cut, very violent, slickly directed and are almost unbelievable in the punishment the protagonists give and receive. Think Death Wish for the 2000’s. »

First looks at Medusa from the forthcoming "Clash of the Titans" have been leaked out in the form of teaser posters. The one-sheets were brought into attention by Ain't It Cool News. One takes a close up look at the female monster who is famed for having snakes for hair, the other one displays Sam Worthington's Perseus holding the Medusa's head up in the air.
Beside those two posters, there were six other one-sheets from AICN. Three of which are character posters, which feature individual shot of Perseus, Liam Neeson's Zeus and Gemma Arterton's Io. Another poster sees Perseus riding a pegasus, while the remaining two expose Alexa Davalos' Princess Andromeda being sacrificed to the Kraken.

Nine character posters have leaked online for Clash of the Titans, the modern, mythological remake from director Louis Leterrier. They feature Sam Worthington as Perseus, Liam Neeson as Zeus, Gemma Arterton as Io, and Ralph Fiennes as Hades. Plus a glimpse of Medusa and the Kraken to go with the earlier remake pictures.
8 of them come from AICN and the last from HitFix. They’re not the best quality because they’re grainy, tilted pictures of the posters and not the official images direct from the studio. I tried to clean them up the best I could, but if you want the full-sized version be sure to click over to those sites. Hopefully Warner Bros will release high-resolution shots soon because these posters look great.
Clash of the Titans will be in theaters March 26, 2010.

There's something decidedly odd about all the rebooting going on these days, and when a show has a "gag," we're in even stranger territory. What's odd about the whole deal, especially recently, is that there are so many television shows getting one reworking or another that decide against camp. In a kind of mirror effort to the reworking of Battlestar Gallactica, V is debuting tonight, and whether either of them are good or bad, the whole idea is just weird. I don't know about anyone else, but this reconstruction trend is messing with my childhood. I liked it better when someone would take something awesomely bad like The Dukes of Hazzard, and tell themselves they could make a pretty stupid movie out of it that might make some money. Fair enough really. But, the dripping with camptasticness Battlestar Gallactica is suddenly deadly serious, and everyone speaks like it's Patton or somesuch, »
