Cop movies usually come in a set flavour. You've got your grizzled veteran a week away from retiring. Your otherwise honorable plod who has to go crooked to provide for his family. And the undercover type who gets in a little too deep. But with Brooklyn's Finest, you get them all blended together like a street-flavoured policeshake!
The trailer for Antoine Fuqua's latest is now online at Apple and does indeed feature every one of the archetypes listed above. Richard Gere's the burned-out lifetimer counting the minutes until he can start fishing, Ethan Hawke's the man trying to keep his big family happy and Don Cheadle is the cop whose loyalties are shifting from his comrades to former prison buddy/drug kingpin Wesley Snipes.

Antoine Fuqua reunites with his Training Day star Ethan Hawke for another cop tale, this time set in Brooklyn, NY. (Did the title give it away?) Hawke is joined by Richard Gere, Don Cheadle and Wesley Snipes in this three-part story that premiered at Sundance this year. Now there's a trailer, after the break. Apple has the trailer, which you can see there in HD if the YouTube embed isn't good enough. The film tells three stories: Gere is a cop with seven days left in his career, who is saddled with a young recruit in his last week. Hawke is a financially troubled married father with more kids on the way, who considers stealing some drug money to ease his troubles. Cheadle is a deep undercover cop assigned to set up and take down a thug (Snipes) with whom he has a history. The three stories eventually collide in »

The trailer for Antoine Fuqua’s new film Brooklyn’s Finest has just come online and I don’t believe what I’m seeing. By returning to the setting of his breakthrough film Training Day, has Fuqua made his first good movie since that film? And now with Ethan Hawke playing the dirty cop role, is he going to hold his own along side Richard Gere and Don Cheadle? It all looks that way because Brooklyn’s Finest, which garnered a positive response at last year’s Sundance Film Festival, seems like a pretty damn good movie.
Click over to check out the trailer and hit the jump to read a synopsis. Brooklyn’s Finest hits theaters on March 5, 2010.

For those just tuning in, here’s the official synopsis:

One of the big hits at the 2009 Sundance was Brooklyn's Finest, about the NYPD and the challenges they face. Not only is Don Cheadle in this, but Wesley Snipes arks his return as the baddest mutha on the planet. I miss Wesley. I wish he was in every movie, kicking people in the face for no reason.Burned out veteran Eddie Dugan (Golden Globe®-winner Richard Gere) is just one week away from his pension and a fishing cabin in Connecticut. Narcotics officer Sal Procida (Oscar® nominee Ethan Hawke) has discovered there’s no line he won’t cross to provide a better life for his long-suffering wife and seven children. And Clarence “Tango” Butler (Oscar® nominee Don Cheadle) has been undercover so long his loyalties have started to shift from his fellow police officers to his prison buddy Caz (Wesley Snipes), one of Brooklyn’s most infamous drug dealers. »

Overture Films has debuted a trailer for Antoine Fuqua's Brooklyn's Finest starring Richard Gere, Don Cheadle, Ethan Hawke, Wesley Snipes, Lili Taylor, Ellen Barkin, Will Patton, and Vincent D'Onofrio. This first premiered at Sundance earlier this year to some mediocre reviews, which is why its taken so long to hit theaters. I never saw it there and this is my first look at any footage from the film and I've got to say I'm actually impressed. It looks intense as hell and packed with lots of action, despite being an indie flick. Even if you know nothing about this, I highly suggest watching the trailer, you might find yourself hooked as well. For screenwriter Michael C. Martin's first produced script Brooklyn's Finest, he got quite the casting jackpot. The intertwining tale of Brooklyn cops lured in Ethan Hawke, Richard Gere, Don Cheadle and Wesley Snipes (!!), not to mention more familiar faces like Will Patton, Ellen Barkin, Lili Taylor, Vincent D'Onofrio and that guy who's on "FlashForward." The movie comes from Antoine Fuqua, who seems to be evading Director Jail since Training Day (despite King Arthur and Shooter).... »

With "New Moon" still riding high at the box office and poised to become one of the highest-grossing films of the year — if not all time — the world can't seem to get enough of Robert Pattinson. It's a good thing, then, that our pals over at MTV Radio recently spoke with the "Twilight" heartthrob.
Last week, we brought you RPattz's thoughts on romances, both onscreen and off. Now, as those Thanksgiving leftovers wear thin, we're happy to dish out part two of that interview, featuring some yummy tidbits on Rob's 90-year-old fans, jealousy over Taylor's bod, and his New Year's resolution to be less self-deprecating.

Here he is, folks. Edward Cullen himself. Robert Pattinson reprises the role that makes him the it boy of teenage stardom today. The Twilight Saga: New Moon is particularly important to him, as Pattinson said that was the book that gave him the key to playing Edward from the first movie on.
.Since I read that book, I always liked him as a character, and I.ve tried to play that same feeling throughout the first one and after the third one as well,. Pattinson said. .Trying to get some kind of elements of an all powerful person or almost all powerful person, the kind of hero of the story that just refuses to accept that he.s the hero, and I think that.s kind of admirable..
The poster child for the emo vampire craze, Pattinson admits his own vampire tastes run a bit more violent. »

Wesley Snipes has appealed his three-year prison sentence on U.S. federal tax charges - insisting the term is "unreasonable".
The Blade: Trinity star was convicted in 2008 of three misdemeanour counts of wilful failure to file his income tax return.
According to prosecutors, who pursued the maximum penalty, Snipes made at least $13.8 million (£8.6 million) for the years in question and owed $2.7 million (£1.7 million) in back taxes.
Snipes apologised at the time, insisting he was was "unschooled in the science of law and finance".
In a Georgia Court of Appeals on Friday his attorney accused prosecutors of seeking to make an example out of the actor, insisting the sentence "focused too heavily on deterrence".
Snipes' attorney also argued the actor should have been granted a hearing to decide whether his trial should have been in New York instead of Florida, where he has homes.
Snipes remains free on bail and was not present at the Atlanta courthouse.
The three-judge panel did not issue an immediate decision. »

Not paying your taxes for five years? Understandable. Going to prison for three years as a result? Totally unreasonable. At least according to Wesley Snipes' crack (but not that crack) defense team. Attorneys for the Uncle Sam-dodging Blade star have filed an appeal against the actor's would-be imprisonment, calling the sentence "unreasonable" and claiming that his tax-evasion trial—which came to a close last February after Snipes was convicted on three misdemeanor counts of failing to file a return—should have taken place in New York and not Florida. Nevermind that the 47-year-old actor's housing records showed that he lived in both states or that his legal team had ample time prior... »

Join the crowd Mr. Carter. Pop star/former "Dancing With the Stars" contestant is in trouble with the IRS. The young brother of Backstreet Boy's Nick Carter was hit with a whopping $1 million tax bill. Yikes! The singer is facing a massive payment from built up back taxes according to reports. Papers filed in a Los Angeles court on Monday show the star allegedly owes $1,010,635 to the U.S. government, according to TMZ.com. Don't feel bad, Aaron, at least you have other celebrities in the same boat as you. Look at Nicolas Cage. Unfortunately for you, I don't think Johnny Depp is a good friend of yours thus he won't be there to help you. Say hello to Wesley Snipes when you arrive in prison!

Yesterday was the start of the massive Los Angeles press junket for “The Twilight Saga: New Moon”. While an embargo prevents me from writing my thoughts on the film (or I’d tell you), I’m allowed to start positing all the interviews I participated in, so if you’re a fan of Rob Pattinson, after the jump you can either read or listen to his entire press conference from yesterday afternoon.
The big news is what I reported yesterday. At the end of the press conference, I asked Rob “what movies have you committed to in 2010 and have you been told a tentative start date on ‘Breaking Dawn’?” He told me “I think the tentative time for ‘Breaking Dawn’ is fall of next year.” Also, he talked about his next movie “Bel Ami” and a western he might do with Rachel Weiss and Hugh Jackman called “Unbound Captives”. Jurnee openly admits that she was a flirt at the age of three! She was doing a pepsi advert with Joe Montana, and she was playing with his collar, she told t5m. And her perchant for the older man didn't end there, as Jurnee also had many celebrity crushes from a young age like, Paul Newman, Wesley Snipes, Will Smith, Sidney Poitier, and Denzel Washington who she first saw in 'Glory' and 'Malcom X'. Jurnee has never told Denzel that she has a crush on him, now she admires him in a fraternal way. She recalls a hilarious story when she went to the movie theatre to watch 'Waiting to Exhale' starring Wesley Snipes. Everytime he came on screen, she would clap! »

One of the nicest things about the McM Expo is how willing people are to talk to convention-goers. Outside of the panels and signings are comic creators and film makers who will quite happily have a conversation with anyone who approaches them.
HeyUGuys managed to snag some time with Jeymes Samuel, who has produced albums for The Gorillaz, Ben Hudson and KT Tunstall. His current project is Buskers, a film version of the comic that he wrote with graphic-novelist Sean Michael Wilson.
The film, which begins shooting in December stars Kevin Spacey, Damon Albarn, Ian Brown and Mos Def. It tells the story of Timothy Book, a former banker who falls on hard times, and ends up spending an increasing amount of time involved with London’s busking scene.
The film is being produced by Pilar Savone, associate producer on Inglorious Basterds, and will feature a soundtrack by London-based musical collective The BulliTTs. »
