Crazy On The Outside is the directorial debut of Tim Allen. Well, aside from one episode of Home Improvement. The movie stars Sigourney Weaver, Ray Liotta, Julie Bowen, J.K. Simmons, Jeanne Tripplehorn, and Kelsey Grammer. What sort of story might Allen want to direct you might ask? In Crazy, Allen plays Tommy, who has just been released from jail after being locked up for three years. While trying to get his life together, obstacles keep getting in his way. Tommy's old partner (Ray... »

Why am I featuring a trailer for a movie that looks this bad? Well, there's one reason, and one reason alone. Crazy on the Outside is the directorial debut of Tim Allen. Yes, Tim "The Toolman" Taylor both directed and stars in this absolutely atrocious comedy that doesn't even deserve to be seen on the big screen. The sad thing is that this actually has a good cast, including Sigourney Weaver, Ray Liotta, J.K. Simmons, Kelsey Grammer, and the still-kind-of-attractive Jeanne Tripplehorn. But it's probably the worst looking comedy that I've seen a trailer for in a while. Or so I think. Watch this if you wish, but don't say I didn't warn you! Watch the trailer for Tim Allen's Crazy on the Outside: You can also watch the Crazy on the Outside trailer in High Definition on Yahoo Tommy (Tim Allen) is fresh out of prison and »

Today's Video of the Week is Channing Tatum's 2007 movie 'The Trap'. The film was created for the 2007 Glamour Reel Moments short film series, was directed by Tom Hanks’ wife Rita Wilson, and stars Jeanne Tripplehorn, Aisha Tyler, Camilla Belle, Gia Carides, Johanna Day, and Greg Butler.
It tells the story of a middle-aged woman named Maggie (played by Jeanne Tripplehorn) stuck in a rut and afraid to take risks, until one day, she does. Maggie’s journey of self-discovery begins with a shaky start when she pulls up to an address in a seedy part of town. But after an unforgettable night of opening up to unexpected possibilities, her life will never be the same again.
Ironically, the DVD for this movie released via Clinique makeup counters when I visited Chan on the New York set of his film 'Fighting'. He hadn't seen it yet, »

Hollywood has figured something out, which is that even if you spend a shit-ton of money on a film, that in and of itself can attract an audience. It’s hard to look at the relative success of Waterworld at the box office as anything more than rubbernecking on the freeway, and it was worthwhile for many who had grown tired of Kevin Costner. My review of Waterworld after the jump.
Though somewhat stiff at times, Costner was the leading man of the late 80’s, even more so than Tom Cruise, with his sexual charisma and aw-shucks charm. No Way Out, The Untouchables, Bull Durham, and Field of Dreams said “hey world, check me out.” Then came Dances with Wolves, which won him a couple of Oscars, defeating the (now seen as obviously superior) Goodfellas. Some resentment sets in with success and the oddball A Perfect World, and the terrible »

I watched a preview of tonight's season premiere of House, and without giving anything away, I can say that it's really, really good. I loved it, and I hope you love it -- but nothing will ever come close to season 1's "Three Stories" for me. That was the episode where House went from being a show I liked to a show I loved, from being good to proving it had the capacity to be great. I think of these as time capsule episodes, the ones I'd want future societies to see so they could think "my my, this ancient civilization had marvelous taste and popular art." It's the episode where a series really plants its flag and says, "no, this is what our show is about." For example... Big Love, "Come Ye Saints" I was lukewarm on the first season of Bl, liked the second season enough, but this »

Eleven-year-old Bella Thorne will play not the niece of Barb (Jeanne Tripplehorn) and daughter of Cindy (Judith Hoag) as previously reported, but will instead take the role of Barb's daughter Tancy, to replace Jolean Wejbe, who played the role during Big Love's first three seasons.
Thorne has appeared on Entourage, The Oc, and in five episodes of the now canceled Dirty Sexy Money. She also played Christian Slater's daughter on the NBC series My Own Worst Enemy. Her Big Love character will reportedly have deep anger issues.
HBO has announced that Big Love's fourth season is set to kick off in January next year.

Chicago – Two of HBO’s most acclaimed and beloved programs of the last year just hit DVD and both packages are worth the pick-up for anyone who considers themselves a serious collector of TV on DVD - “Flight of the Conchords: Season Two” and “Grey Gardens”. Both were nominated for multiple Emmys, standing among the best television of 2008 and 2009.
DVD Rating: 4.0/5.0 Let’s start with the comedy. The second-and-superior season of “Flight of the Conchords” continues the adventures of Emmy-nominated Jemaine Clement and his partner Bret McKenzie as the New Zealand’s “4th Most Popular Folk Parody Duo” trying to make it big in the States.
Flight of the Conchords: Season Two was released on DVD on August 4th, 2009.

Watchmen—Director’S Cut (Warner Bros.) Director Zack Snyder’s film of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ landmark graphic novel is as worthy an adaptation of a great book that has ever been filmed. In an alternative version of the year 1985, Richard Nixon is serving his third term as President and super heroes have been outlawed by a congressional act, in spite of the fact that two of the most high-profile “masks,” Dr. Manhattan (Billy Cruddup) and The Comedian (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) helped the U.S. win the Vietnam War. When The Comedian is found murdered, many former heroes become concerned that a conspiracy is afoot to assassinate retired costumed crime fighters. Former masks Nite Owl (Patrick Wilson), Silk Spectre (Malin Akerman) and still-operating Rorschach (Jackie Earle Haley, in an Oscar-worthy turn) launch an investigation of their own, all while the Pentagon’s “Doomsday »

Fragments, while it does have fleeting glimmers of hope, is a film that never realizes its full potential. The marketing for the film suggests that it bears some similarity to Paul Haggis’ Academy Award winning film Crash. The similarities are merely superficial. An ensemble cast united by a tragic event is about as close as the two films get. Fragments, while making a few inlays into the festival circuit, never found theatrical release and is only available on DVD. The film is also listed under two titles: Winged Creatures (which is the name of the Roy Freirich novel on which the film is based) and Fragments.
I’d keep this one off your queue
Fragments tells the story of various characters who find themselves in a small town diner as a tragic and random event transpires. A lone gunman, for no specified reason, murders patrons before turning the gun on himself. »

Law & Order: Svu veteran Adam Beach is set to go on board for HBO polygamist drama Big Love's fourth season for a season-long recurring role as Tommy Flute, the son of Bill's (Bill Paxton) partner, the head of the Indian Gaming Casino Jerry Flute (Robert Beltran). Beach, 36, is best known for his roles as Marine Private First Class Ira Hayes in Flags of Our Fathers and Private Ben Yahzee in Windtalkers.
The HBO drama announced previously that it was on a lookout for two additions to its cast, including Barb's (Jeanne Tripplehorn) pre-teen niece and Cindy's (Judith Hoag) daughter and closeted gay Mormon and new Trustee of the Juniper Creek Assets who might also be a love interest for Alby (Matt Ross). Since Beach's role isn't any of these two things, Big Love is still looking for the two new characters.

While some performers are Emmy veterans – like "Damages" star Glenn Close, who made it an even dozen nods today – others, such as her Oscar-winning costar William Hurt, are new to the dance. Hurt – who won the lead actor Oscar in 1985 for "Kiss of the Spider Woman" and picked up a supporting actor in a drama series Emmy nod today – is not the only Oscar champ in contention for an acting Emmy for the first time this year. While 1984 best actress Oscar winner Shirley MacLaine("Terms of Endearment") won one of her five Emmy bids for variety specials in the 1970s and 1980s, her nod today as lead actress in a movie or mini-series for "Coco Chanel" is her first recognition by the TV academy for her acting. And 1988 supporting actor Oscar champ Kevin Kline("A Fish Called Wanda") earned his first Emmy nod in the category of lead actor in »

Our Emmy prophets — forums moderators Chris "Boomer" Beachum and Robert "Rob L" Licuria, who also contribute to AwardsHeaven.net — agree on five of the six women who will vie for lead actress in a drama series. They both think returning champ Glenn Close ("Damages") will face off against 2007 winner Sally Field ("Brothers and Sisters"), three-time also ran Kyra Sedgwick ("The Closer") and newcomers January Jones ("Mad Men") and Anna Paquin ("True Blood"). For the sixth slot, Rob – who went four for five right last year – opts for Oscar winner Holly Hunter returning to the race a second time for "Saving Grace." Boomer – who got all five nominees right last year – believes "Big Love" star Jeanne Tripplehorn will break through and land her first nod. Best Drama Series Actress
