‘The Sopranos’ Strip Club Location Satin Dolls Is Closing Amid Criminal Investigation

‘The Sopranos’ Strip Club Location Satin Dolls Is Closing Amid Criminal Investigation
In a case of life imitating art, the New Jersey location of Tony Soprano’s infamous Bada Bing! strip club has been shut down amid pending criminal investigation, the AP reports. The Lodi, New Jersey strip club Satin Dolls has been accused of solicitation of prostitution, lewd activity, and failure to account for “large amounts of cash moving in and out of the businesses.” “Illegal activity was glorified at the ‘Bada Bing’ in the fictional world of Tony Soprano, but it has no place in modern-day New Jersey,” said New Jersey Attorney General Christopher S. Porrino in a release. “It’s time to shut it down.”

The owners of Satin Dolls have been under investigation for six years, according to the Ag’s report. One of the owners, Anthony Cardinalle, admitted to federal income tax evasion in 1995, and pled guilty in 2013 to a racketeering conspiracy linked to the Genovese crime family.

The First Trailer for HBO’s Andre The Giant Documentary ‘He Was A God’

HBO has a documentary coming out fairly soon that will focus on the legendary Andre the Giant. He Was a God is kind of an odd title for anything and leaves a lot to live up to but when you consider just how big Andre was, physically and otherwise, he is very deserving of his fame and the type of reputation he earned. To some he was nothing short of mythical since he was one of the largest people to ever exist, but to others he was just a very big man that banked a lot of success by performing

WWE Smackdown Review 5/12/17- Shinsuke Nakamura Returns, Several Changes to Clash of Champions, Sami Zayn takes on Randy Orton

Liam Hoofe reviews this week’s episode of SmackDown Live…

SmackDown begins this week and surprisingly, Shane McMahon isn’t out to start the show. Owens and Zayn make their way to the ring and address last week’s main event. The two run down the McMahon family and mention Stone Cold Steve Austin and his encounters with them in the past, they also reference Randy Orton just being a hired gun for the McMahons these days. Sami walks around the ring, explaining how he didn’t break the rules last week, while also taking cheap pops at the commentators and the fans.

While this is happening, Orton hits an Rko out of nowhere on Kevin in the ring. Sami begins to retreat up the ramp and then, of course, outcomes big Shane. Shane announces that Orton and a partner of his choosing will face Zayn and Owens at Clash

‘Michelle Wolf: Nice Lady’ Review: ‘Daily Show’ Contributor’s HBO Stand-Up Set is A Glorious Overview of Life in 2017

‘Michelle Wolf: Nice Lady’ Review: ‘Daily Show’ Contributor’s HBO Stand-Up Set is A Glorious Overview of Life in 2017
In the comedy world, 2017 has been a year of struggling to stay timely. When the most monumental breaking news is reduced to a tiny blip in record time, it’s difficult to make something that feels relevant without leaning on that day’s crisis. So in her debut special, “Michelle Wolf: Nice Lady,” Wolf takes a slightly different headline-free tack and ends up with an hourlong set that makes for a very funny time capsule for where we are now.

“Nice Lady” was filmed in mid-August and, as you may have heard, a lot has happened since then. But it’s even more a testament to Wolf’s approach to topics like workplace equality, birth control, and societal expectations that they feel ready-made for the full swath of what this year has offered. Wolf doesn’t have to reference the downfall of powerful men in the past few months when

WWE Studios Expands into Scripted Series, Animation, and Digital Content

WWE Studios is spreading its wings, expanding into scripted TV series, animation, and digital content.

The Stamford, Conn.-based company aims to grow the studio arm into a broad-based production operation, beyond the live wrestling events and TV franchises that are the core of WWE’s business. To date, WWE Studios has concentrated on movies tied to its roster of wrestlers. WWE Studios, repped by Wme, will continue to be headed by president Michael Luisi.

WWE Studios is open for business with this new TV and digital initiative,” said WWE chairman-ceo Vince McMahon.

Wrestling Daily News Roundup – New Us Title Belt!?, Smackdown Tag Team Splits, Asuka Sets Some Records

Liam Hoofe with a round-up of the latest wrestling news…

New Us Title Design

Over the last few years, the WWE has set about redesigning all of their titles, often to a very negative reaction from the WWE universe. Well, it looks as though the next belt to receive a makeover will be the Us title, with the Florence Civic Centre, which is hosting a WWE show on the 20th January sharing this image on their Facebook page.

While the new belt design, if that is what it is, is actually quite nice, I’m a big fan of the current Us belt and I don’t feel as though it needed changing. New belts often come with new champions, though, so could Baron Corbin be dropping the belt to Roode at Clash of Champions? This could be nothing, but it seems unlikely that a venue would just change a title for their promotional images.

Wrestling Daily News Roundup – Surprise Debuts on Smackdown, Main Event Set for Clash of Champions, Nxt Call-up Confirmed, Why The Miz Lost to Roman Reigns

Liam Hoofe with a round-up of the latest wrestling news…

Surprise Debuts on Smackdown

Following the debuts of Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose on this week’s Raw, Smackdown had its own Nxt invasion this week. During a backstage segment, former Women’s Champions Naomi and Becky Lynch were assaulted by Nxt talents Ruby Riot, Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan, who then interrupted a match between Charlotte and Natalya in the night as well.

That’s now five female talents who have been called up from Nxt in the past week, and it looks as though the WWE is trying to work some sort of invasion angle here. It remains to be seen as to whether Paige will be directly involved with this trio as well, or whether they are flying solo on Smackdown. It is also interesting to note that Daniel Bryan refused to comment on the debuts during the show.
