The blogosphere is alive with excitement as their new found love interest in Moon director, Duncan Jones, is confirmed for a new film with Jake Gyllenhaal and Summit Entertainment is aboard to distribute. The film is Source Code and Screen Daily says Breach writer/director Billy Ray is polishing up Ben Ripley's original draft.
The film is described as a sci-fi thriller telling the story of a Us soldier who wakes up in the body of an unknown commuter and is forced to live and relive a train bombing until he can find the perpetrator. Looking around it appears most bloggers have already read the script and are highly in favor of it.
However, the decision has surprised many that were looking forward to Jones's Mute, a film that's been described by Jones as "a love letter to Blade Runner" and follows a mute bartender looking for his abducted girlfriend in a future Berlin. »

Oscar-nominated "Brokeback Mountain" star Jake Gyllenhaal is almost set to star in Duncan Jones' new sci-fi thriller "Source Code," which Summit Entertainment will bring to theaters.
Variety says the film will focus on a soldier who wakes up in the body of a commuter and relives a train bombing until he figures out who's behind the attack. Sounds a bit like "Deja Vu" to me. »

While on the set of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, we had a chance to talk to some of the cast. Below you will find our roundtable interviews with Jake Gyllenhaal and Gemma Arterton: You've done big movies like The Day After Tomorrow and you've had some opportunities to do a franchise movie, so what was it about this particular franchise that made you want to be involved in it? Jake Gyllenhaal: I think just on a personal front, it was just so unlikely and so unlike anything I'd ever played really, and any type of movie that I think anyone would expect, that I just kind of wanted to do it. (laughs) It felt like that personally, but also, more than anything, when I talked with Mike Newell about it, it wasn't just like your normal video game adaptation. It was an actual massive epic »

Siblings are always fighting over stuff. Even the wife and kids. In the trailer for Brothers, Jake Gyllenhaal consoles the grieving Natalie Portman and her children following the supposed death of Jake's brother, Tobey Maguire. There's just one little problem with this, which the trailer isn't shy about revealing: Tobey's not dead. Call this a different kind of family film. Think you'll see it? »

This past summer, a small sci-fi film called Moon took everyone by surprise and not only amassed a pretty large fanbase, but also inspired a grassroots Oscar campaign for the film's star, Sam Rockwell. Now, Moon director Duncan Jones will follow up his debut feature with a very cool sounding flick called Source Code, which will star Jake Gyllenhaal, according to Variety. Summit Entertainment will distribute the sci-fi thriller, which follows "a soldier who wakes up in the body of an unknown commuter and is forced to live and relive a harrowing train bombing until he can determine who is responsible for it." It kinda sounds like a more intense take on a Groundhog Day-type concept, and the script – which has been floating around since 2007 (when Shane Abbess was tapped to...

Duncan Jones doesn't look to be revisiting space anytime soon, though the "Moon" filmmaker is on his way back to theaters with Jake Gyllenhaal at his side.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jones will direct "Source Code," a new science fiction thriller produced by Philippe Rousselet and Mark Gordon through the former's Vendome Pictures. Gyllenhaal is currently in talks to star.
"Source Code" focuses on a soldier that inexplicably awakens in the body of a commuter, with one or both of these characters presumably played by Gyllenhaal. In the commuter's body, the soldier is forced to solve the mystery behind a train explosion.
While his debut film wasn't particularly lucrative, Duncan Jones' "Moon" was widely acclaimed for the director's vision and the performance — or performances, I should say — of leading man Sam Rockwell. Kevin Spacey, who provided voice work in the film, is one of the other very few actors credited in "Moon, »

Jake Gyllenhaal is in negotiations for the science fiction thriller Source Code with Moon director Duncan Jones. Summit Entertainment will distribute in the U.S., according to Screen Daily.
Gyllenhaal will play a soldier who wakes up in another man’s body and must relive a train explosion over again until he’s able to solve the mystery behind it. It’s Groundhog Day meets 12 Monkeys, plus a little Matrix.
Ben Ripley’s phenomenal script for the film made the 2007 Black List for best un-produced screenplays above other potential films like Book of Eli, Adventureland, and Salt (which I just reviewed). I’ve read it and hope to put something together soon on its greatness. The latest version includes revisions by screenwriter Billy Ray.
This will be the second feature for Jones, who gained recognition this year with his futuristic isolation story and has been campaigning heavily for a Sam Rockwell Oscar nomination. »

Movie bosses have brought in Jake Gyllenhaal to replace Topher Grace in upcoming sci-fi thriller Source Code.
Grace was the first choice to play the lead in the film - about a soldier who wakes up in the body of an unknown commuter and must relive a horrific train bombing to catch the mastermind behind the disaster.
The project was initially scheduled to begin shooting in 2007.
However, movie executives at Vendome Pictures and the Mark Gordon Company have taken over the film from Universal; and Gyllenhaal is in negotiations to replace Grace, according to Daily Variety.
Production is scheduled to begin in 2010. »

A lot of people still haven't had a chance to see Duncan Jones' Moon, the indie sci-fi film starring Sam Rockwell, but from all the positive reviews [1], it's clear that critics are marking this as the arrival of an exciting and talented new director. The movie hits DVD [2] on January 12th, but in the meantime Jones has started to line up a number of new projects. A WWII submarine thriller called Escape From The Deep, and another science-fiction film called Mute had been previously announced, but now it looks like something else will take priority over both of those projects. Variety [3] reports that Jones has signed on to direct Source Code, a sci-fi thriller about a soldier who wakes up inhabiting the body of a stranger. He must relive a train bombing over and over again until he can find out who is responsible. Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks to star, »

Duncan Jones’ Moon was one of the best debut films from a young and talented director to have been released in quite a while. He got an amazing performance out of Sam Rockwell and the film looked like a mash-up of Kubrick, Aronofsky and The Twilight Zone. And while his next project, Mute (said to be inspired heavily by Blade Runner) has been put on the backburner due to budgetary constraints, he’s got another project lined up.
His next film will be called Source Code, and will star the Prince of Persia himself, Jake Gyllenhaal. The film will center “on a soldier who wakes up in the body of an unknown commuter and is forced to live and relive a harrowing train bombing until he can determine who is responsible for it.” Sounds very intriguing and quite a bit like the mystery that was unraveled in Moon. Hopefully he »

· Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks to star in the sci-fi thriller Source Code, the planned follow-up of Moon director Duncan Jones. Gyllenhaal would portray a soldier who wakes up one day in the body of an unfamiliar commuter forced to relive a train bombing until he can discover who's responsible for it. It's said to be loosely based on screenwriters who experienced a similar dilemma with this story for two years, from Universal to current studio Summit, until they finally were able to pin the whole thing on Groundhog Day. - Duncan Jones might be pinned down to the sci-fi genre from Moon on onwards. After being attached to a finger-full of projects since his Sundance launch pad, the helmer has signed onto direct the 2007 Black List script (high on that list and tops on ScriptShadow's recent poll) with Jake Gyllenhaal in the running to topline the pic. Originally written by Ben Ripley, Source Code got a revision from Billy Ray (this writer-director has his DNA on tons of screenplays) and it basically looks at an experimental government program set up to investigate a terrorist incident, when a soldier wakes up in the body of an unknown commuter and is forced to live and relive a harrowing train bombing until he can determine who is responsible for it. In short we are looking at Groundhog Day in space. Before landing on Summit's lap, the project was set up at Universal, »

With Prince of Persia star Gyllenhaal reviving the project and man of the moment Duncan Jones taking control, the project is sure to make it to screen. »
