X-Men: Dark Phoenix Has a Huge Twist Fans Won't See Coming

X-Men: Dark Phoenix Has a Huge Twist Fans Won't See Coming
Following the new photos from X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which offered our first look at Jessica Chastain's villain character, new plot details have surfaced. The latest report from Entertainment Weekly teases that the movie will feature some of the biggest set pieces in X-Men franchise history, the mutants' first trip to outer space along with, according to EW, "a massive twist halfway through that will irrevocably change the course of the franchise." Sadly, no further details were given regarding said twist, but James McAvoy revealed that this is the darkest X-Men movie yet.

"This is probably the most emotional X-Men we've done and the most pathos-driven. There's a lot of sacrifice and a lot of suffering."

While nothing about this twist has been revealed, there was a rumor that surfaced last month which revealed that writer-director Simon Kinberg intends to show just how powerful the Dark Phoenix is, by having

Dylan Farrow Asks Why Woody Allen Has Been Spared After Harvey Weinstein Scandal

Dylan Farrow Asks Why Woody Allen Has Been Spared After Harvey Weinstein Scandal
Woody Allen’s daughter Dylan Farrow is asking why her father has been spared in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal and the subsequent #MeToo movement.

“Why is it that Harvey Weinstein and other accused celebrities have been cast out by Hollywood, while Allen recently secured a multimillion-dollar distribution deal with Amazon …?” Farrow wrote in an op-ed for the Los Angeles Times on Thursday.

“The system worked for Harvey Weinstein for decades. It works for Woody Allen still,” she added.

Farrow – who is one of the star’s three children with ex Mia Farrow – publicly claimed that Allen molested

Dylan Farrow Calls Out Hollywood For Continuing to Work With Woody Allen in Face of #MeToo Revolution

Dylan Farrow Calls Out Hollywood For Continuing to Work With Woody Allen in Face of #MeToo Revolution
In a new op-ed written for the Los Angeles Times, writer and advocate Dylan Farrow calls out Hollywood and some of its brightest stars for continuing to work with filmmaker in the face of the burgeoning #MeToo revolution. Farrow, Allen’s adoptive daughter with Allen’s former partner Mia Farrow, long ago accused Allen of molesting her when she was just seven years old, though Allen was never prosecuted on any charges (Allen declined to comment on the article).

For Farrow, however, the uptick in reporting on sexual abusers and harassers has stalled out, and her own accused abuser has not only walked free, but continued to thrive in an industry currently casting out its alleged perpetrators. She writes, “We are in the midst of a revolution. From allegations against studio heads and journalists, to hotel maids recounting abuses on the job, women are exposing the truth and men are losing their jobs.

Allison Janney Says Tonya Harding Loved Her Performance in ‘I, Tonya’ — Watch

Allison Janney Says Tonya Harding Loved Her Performance in ‘I, Tonya’ — Watch
As moviegoers head to see “I, Tonya” in theaters this weekend, those who remember the Tonya Harding scandal may come away with an entirely different view of the disgraced former Olympian. It’s no surprise then that Harding, who made international headlines for her supposed involvement in the 1994 assault of Nancy Kerrigan, is a big fan of the film. “She loved the movie. There were parts she didn’t like, but I think mostly she was really excited about it,” Allison Janney said on a recent visit to “The Ellen Degeneres Show.”

Janney plays Harding’s shockingly abusive mother in the lively dark comedy, which stars an excellent Margot Robbie in the titular role and was directed by Craig Gillespie. Janney’s disturbingly hilarious performance as the tough-talking, chain-smoking Lavona Harding has been hailed as one of her finest, and could potentially earn Janney her first Oscar nomination.

Blueprints: "Juno"

This week Juno celebrated its tenth anniversary, so Jorge takes a look at how Diablo Cody’s iconic dialogue was inflicted with meaning by the cast.

Juno first hit theaters ten years ago as a low budget indie hopeful. It ended its run as a major box office hit and Oscar favorite. It was the movie that put Ellen Page on the map, boosted Jason Reitman’s career, and gave us arguably the definitive Jennifer Garner performance.

Screenwriter Diablo Cody won the Oscar for her debut screenplay, and she instantly became a recognizable name, the way many directors but few writers are. And not without merit. One of Juno’s biggest legacy is its quick-witted, snarky dialogue that, many times since then, has tried to be replicated...

‘I, Tonya’ Costume Designer Jennifer Johnson On Going To eBay To Peel Back Layers On Tonya Harding

In a little over 10 years as a costume designer, Jennifer Johnson has covered a great deal of terrain, immersing herself in the needs of the script to the extent that it’s difficult to link her name to any one style. Making her feature debut with David Slade’s haunting thriller Hard Candy—which saw a precocious young woman (Ellen Page) luring a pedophile (Patrick Wilson) into a violent trap—Johnson’s first effort sprang from a great specificity of vision, a trait that is…

Critic's Notebook: As 'Lady Bird,' Saoirse Ronan Contains Multitudes

Critic's Notebook: As 'Lady Bird,' Saoirse Ronan Contains Multitudes
Maybe because you can only lose your virginity once, it's always seemed somehow implicit that a performer could, or should, only be allowed to star in one great coming-of-age film: Carey Mulligan in An Education, Jean-Pierre Leaud in The 400 Blows, Alicia Silverstone in Clueless, Dustin Hoffman in The Graduate, Jean Seberg in Bonjour Tristesse, Ellen Page in Juno — the list is long. But someone has now broken that rule. Two years ago, Saoirse Ronan reduced many of us to blubbering idiots with her intensely moving portrait of an Irish teenager in early-1950s New York in Brooklyn, and now...
