Jake Gyllenhaal’s Boston Marathon Bombing Drama ‘Stronger’ Gets Awards-Season Release
Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions have set an awards-season release date of Sept. 22 for Jake Gyllenhaal’s Boston Marathon bombing movie “Stronger.”

Gyllenhaal stars as Jeff Bauman, while Tatiana Maslany plays his girlfriend Erin Hurley, in a story about love triumphing over adversity. Clancy Brown (“Hail, Caesar!”) portrays Bauman’s father and Miranda Richardson plays his mother Patty Bauman.

The film is a production of Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment label, Mandeville Films, Bold Films, and Nine Stories. It’s Gyllenhaal’s first production under his Nine Stories banner.

Miranda Richardson and Clancy Brown have joined Jake Gyllenhaal and Tatiana Maslany in Lionsgate’s Boston Marathon bombing movie “Stronger,” with production starting this week in Boston.

November 25 Is Creed Day – Sylvester Stallone, Michael B. Jordan, Tessa Thompson And Director Ryan Coogler On Hand For Proclamation

Standing atop the Philadelphia Art Museum’s iconic steps, Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter proclaimed Wednesday, November 25 “Creed” Day in honor of the upcoming film – opening that same day – which explores the next chapter in the “Rocky” saga.

Creed stars Sylvester Stallone, Michael B. Jordan and Tessa Thompson joined Mayor Nutter on Friday to receive the official proclamation. The film’s writer/director, Ryan Coogler, and producer Irwin Winkler were also on hand.

The film, which brings Rocky Balboa face-to-face with the son of his one-time rival and best friend, Apollo Creed, was shot in and around the City of Brotherly Love. The museum steps, and the statue of Rocky that stands at the bottom of them, can, in fact, be seen in Creed.

Production is underway on Summit Entertainment's The Tomb. Directed by Mikael H&#229fstr&#246m, the action-thriller is an Emmett-Furla Films/Mark Canton production. The producers are Atmosphere Entertainment's chairman Mark Canton, Randall Emmett, George Furla, Robbie Brenner and Kevin King Templeton.

Co-financed by Emmett-Furla Films and Summit Entertainment, The Tomb is being filmed on location in the New Orleans area. Summit Entertainment, a Lionsgate company, holds worldwide distribution rights and will release the motion picture in North America.

Written by Miles Chapman for the screen, with a rewrite by Jason Keller, The Tomb follows Ray Breslin (Sylvester Stallone), the world's foremost authority on structural security.
