His first taste of acting came at the age of three when he played the woodcutter in a nursery school play of 'Little Red Riding Hood'. He saw school plays as a convenient way of skipping school lessons!
Attended Grafton Primary School in Holloway between the ages of 5 and 10, then attended Laycock Primary School in Islington between the ages of 10 and eleven.
His mother Julie Ballo is the writing partner of Jenny Eclair.
He lives in Hackney, London, with his Australian mother, English father and younger brother.
In November 2004, he started Year Seven at Central Foundation Boys' School, a state secondary school situated in London.
From age six, he became involved in acting workshops at the Anna Scher Theatre, an illustrious community threatre in Islington, London. In 2003, when he was just ten, he was offered the chance to join the professional classes at the Theatre.
