Once again, we take a stab at who will be going home with golden phonographs in Bigger Than the Sound.

It's not exactly breaking news to fans of Bigger Than the Sound (hi, Mom!) that I fancy myself quite the prognosticator, particularly when it comes to awards shows. This is partially because I consider myself an expert on these kinds of things, but also because I have a huge gambling problem.
In previous years, I've tried my hand at picking the winners of the MTV Video Music Awards and predicting the Grammy nominees, with varying degrees of success (who among us can forget my triumphant 3-for-8 turn at the 2008 VMAs? Or, conversely, my dismal 2-for-2,000 run at the 2009 Grammys?) And so, buoyed by my successes — and fueled by my failures — I've decided to continue the tradition with this year's Grammy noms, which »

Be forewarned, Robert Pattinson; you're about to receive an invitation that it would be best to think twice (and maybe thrice) about before accepting. Ok! Magazine reports that singer/oft-hospitalized drug enthusiast Amy Winehouse is planning a Twilight-themed New Year's Eve party—and she'd like nothing so much as to have R-Pattz as the guest of honor. Reports a source, “She’s planning on having a huge blood and guts vampire party on New Year’s Eve at her house...Amy thinks Robert is cool and loves the sexuality around vampires.” Uh, yeah. We can completely understand why Wine-o would be a Twilight fan, and would want to... »

Britain's Queen Elizabeth has been told to "rethink" Lady Gaga's Royal Variety Performance appearance. Amy Winehouse's father Mitch Winehouse believes the 83-year-old monarch should reconsider allowing scantily-clad singer Lady Gaga - who is known for her outrageous stage routines - to perform at the royal concert on December 7 and instead replace her with veteran Welsh performers Shirley Bassey and Tom Jones. He said: "Lady Gaga's been invited to go on the Royal Variety performance. What's she going to do? I think her last performance she was suspended from the ceiling with blood pouring out of her? Call me old fashioned but what happened to Shirley Bassey and Tom Jones, I don't know. Your Majesty, you better have a rethink »

However, she cancelled the concert as she felt she wasn’t ready to return to the stage. Rihanna will not be the first star to earn a vast amount of money for a one-off concert. Rules were made to be broken. Or, when it comes to Lady Gaga, one of the few true breakout music stars in a business that is starving for new icons, at least bent.

Portnow told Entertainment Weekly that there may be a loophole that would allow Gaga to join the list of recent female luminaries who've snagged the award that includes Adele, Amy Winehouse and Carrie Underwood. »
