M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Unbreakable’ Sequel ‘Glass’ Adds Disney as Distributor
M. Night Shyamalan has started shooting his thriller “Glass,” with Disney joining Universal as a distributor.

The studios announced Monday that Universal will handle domestic distribution, while Buena Vista International is on board for international territories. Shooting began Monday in Philadelphia — the site of many of Shyamalan’s movies.

Glass” brings together the narratives of Shyamalan’s “Unbreakable,” which was released through Disney, and last year’s “Split,” from Universal. Shyamalan is self-financing.

From “Unbreakable,” Bruce Willis returns as David Dunn and Samuel L. Jackson is back as Elijah Price, best known by his pseudonym Mr. Glass. Joining from “Split” are James McAvoy, reprising his role as Kevin Wendell Crumb and the multiple identities who reside within, and Anya Taylor-Joy, the only captive to survive an encounter with McAvoy’s The Beast.

Spencer Treat Clark and Charlayne Woodard, who appeared in M. Night Shyamalan’s “Unbreakable,” are reprising their roles in “Glass,” the filmmaker’s sequel to the 2000 hit.

Glass” is a follow-up to Shyamalan’s films “Split” and “Unbreakable,” in which Bruce Willis starred as David Dunn, a security guard who discovers he has superhuman powers that allow him to see the crimes people have committed by touching them.

Willis and his “Unbreakable” co-star Samuel L. Jackson are also returning, along with “Split” stars James McAvoy and Anya Taylor-Joy.

In “Glass,” Dunn pursues Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Elijah Price, aka Mr. Glass (Jackson), emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.

Clark is back as Willis’ son, while Woodard is returning to play Jackson’s mother.

12 Years a Slave and American Horror Story actress Sarah Paulson has officially joined M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass, the sequel that rounds up the Unbreakable, Split trilogy.

Shyamalan, who has been busy putting the finishing touches on the script for Glass over the last few weeks, took to social media to announce the Paulson’s addition to the cast which also includes James McAvoy, Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson and Anya Taylor-Joy.

The film stars Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, James McAvoy, and Anya Taylor-Joy. Universal Pictures and Blumhouse are producing and the film, which will be released on Jan. 18, 2019.

Shyamalan announced the news on Wednesday in a series of tweets.
