Boba Fett Film Rumored to be in Development by Simon Kinberg

Boba Fett Film Rumored to be in Development by Simon Kinberg
A standalone Boba Fett movie has been announced for some time. However, there were some serious doubts about whether the movie would ever get made because the initial director Josh Trank was fired over Fantastic Four. Some sources have claimed that Trank was fired because of his poor behavior on the set for the movie, whereas other sources have claimed that the movie’s poor performance at the box office was the primary factor. Whatever the case, the firing of Trank as well as a prolonged lack of news put the Boba Fett movie into something of a limbo, so much

‘Good Time’ Directors Benny & Josh Safdie To Helm ’48 Hrs.’ Remake
The success of “Good Time” has kicked open some doors for filmmakers Josh and Benny Safdie, who have spent years solidifying their indie cred. As they shared last month, some very big projects have started to cross their desk, though the duo are being selective about what they choose to do.

“….we’re talking about doing a remake of a movie. It’s weird, a studio offered us to do a sequel to this huge comic-book thing.

Warner Bros. Settles $900M Lawsuit Over 'The Conjuring'
Warner Bros. and New Line have settled a big ticket lawsuit that was brought by an author who claimed The Conjuring franchise infringed his exclusive rights to tell the story of the ghost hunters portrayed in the films — and the studios are close to resolving their counterclaims against him.

Gerald Brittle sued in 2016, claiming The Conjuring, The Conjuring 2 and the Annabelle spin-offs infringe on his exclusive rights to create derivative works based on case files of Ed and Lorraine Warren.

Brittle and New Line released this joint statement Wednesday: "Mr. Brittle has agreed to...

Atlanta Readers: Win Passes to See ‘Pitch Perfect 3’

The Pitch Perfect series has become an unlikely franchise that’s blended solid covers of songs with worthwhile comedy, but all good things must end, and it looks like Pitch Perfect 3 will close out the series before it wears out its welcome. I liked the first two Pitch Perfect movies, and I’m looking forward to spending a little more time with these characters, especially if the upcoming sequel has something that rivals the awesome cameo from Pitch Perfect 2 (I won’t spoil it for those that haven’t seen the movie yet). I’m pleased to announce …

History Is Made As Disney Takes 20th Century Fox And Hollywood Will Never Be The Same

When the news leaked that the remaining vestiges of 21st Century (apparently now temporarily known as “New Fox”) would keep the Fox lot in Century City it was a bad sign. The historic studio lot has been the home for the 20th Century Fox movie studio since 1926. When Disney revealed they had no interest in keeping that land, that basically told everyone the studio itself, its history, the company meant little to them in the acquisition that was formally announced today.

‘Black Mirror’ Is Coming True at a Chinese Company That Rates People’s ‘Social Credit’
In yet another case of life imitating art, a Chinese “super app” called Alipay is now assigning users a three-digit score that works as “credit for everything in your life.” Known as Zhima Credit, it ranges between 350 and 950 and is meant to assess people’s worth on a wide-ranging scale — not unlike what we saw in “Nosedive,” the first episode of “Black Mirror” season three. Wired has a lengthy writeup on Zhima Credit, a project of the company Ant Financial meant to serve as a “credit system that covers the whole society.”

“Zhima Credit is the embodiment of personal credit,” reads the signup text. “It uses big data to conduct an objective assessment. The higher the score, the better your credit.”

Disney-Fox Deal: How It Ranks Among Biggest All-Time Media Mergers

At a valuation of $66.1 billion, including assumption of debt, the Disney-Fox combination announced today is certainly a major disruption of the media business status quo. But it is not the richest media deal ever — nor is it a sure thing to work out well, despite all of the blue-skying in some quarters. Looking back on the priciest media deals of the past — and a caveat should be issued here that this is a selective list that omits some telecom or digital deals — the…

‘Crashing’ Season 2 Trailer: Pete Holmes Is Looking For Star Quality

Crashing” is back! Hooray? I don’t know many people who are particularly enthused by the HBO comedy, which doesn’t have the water cooler flavor of some of their premiere titles. But maybe that’s the low key, secret sauce that has helped it stick around. However, “Togetherness” was similarly under the radar and the network yanked it, despite very good notices.

Anyway, Pete Holmes leads the show, playing a newly single comedian, trying to find love and keep his career going, all in the hustle and bustle of New York City.
