Variety reports that New Films has picked up worldwide rights to Deon Taylor's horror pic Chain Letter and plans to release the film in the U.S. next year. The story centers on a serial killer who preys on teenagers. His target: Teens who fail to forward a chain letter. The cast consists of several genre vets including Nikki Reed ( Twilight , The Twilight Saga: New Moon ), Betsy Russell (Saw III-vi) and Brad Dourif (Child's Play, Halloween 2 ). New Films picked up the film with hopes to turn it into a franchise. Todd Slater produced Chain Letter through his Slater Brothers Entertainment shingle. »
