Samuel L. Jackson

Samuel L. Jackson has joined the cast of director Jose Padilha’s RoboCop. According to The Hollywood Reporter Jackson will play Pat Novak, a powerful TV mogul, opposite Joel Kinnaman’s Alex Murphy and Gary Oldman’s scientist, Norton.

A reboot of the 1987 Paul Verhoeven film, RoboCop will again tell the story of a police officer who, after nearly being killed in the line of duty, is rebuilt as a crime-fighting cyborg cop. The original film spawned two sequels and multiple television series spinoffs.

Jackson will next appear in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, set for release on Christmas Day.

The actor is becoming quite the franchise king. In addition to the RoboCop reboot, he has also appeared as Nick Fury in Marvel’s various superhero films (most recently The Avengers), and as Mace Windu in three ‘Star Wars’ live action films and The Clone Wars. Then there was Shaft… »
