In a case of art imitating life, Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes has thrown herself into a real-life soap opera. Rhimes, who is African-American, tweeted, “Hey @abcfbunheads: really? You couldn’t cast even One young dancer of color so I could feel good about my kid watching this show? Not One?”

Rhimes’ long-running ABC hits Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice both feature casts with ethnically diverse backgrounds, and she cast African-American actress Kerry Washington as a Washington power player in her latest show Scandal.
