'Law & Order' Breaks the Record
It looks like the detectives from NBC's longest-running police procedural are about to steal something. Something big. And they're going to get away with it squeaky clean.
How big is it, you ask? Oh, only world record big.
That's right. NBC has renewed Law & Order for a twenty-first season, which will begin in fall of 2009. What's so special about this twenty-first season? Well, it breaks the previous record for longest-running drama in television history. That title previously belonged to Gunsmoke, a series which ran for twenty seasons.
NBC's President of Primetime Programming, Angela Bromstad, voiced her support for the series, stating that she was 'a Law & Order junkie.'
Bromstad also stated that she could not in clear conscience cancel Law & Order on the eve of such an important landmark. "I wouldn’t want to be responsible for not having Law & Order break the record," she stated.

The Tenth Doctor's Top 5 Doctor Who Episodes
16 hours ago
When Doctor Who was resurrected in 2005, it featured actor Christopher Eccleston as the ninth incarnation of the Doctor. You see, as a Time Lord, the Doctor has the power to regenerate whenever mortally wounded. But it's not as easy as that — he also changes his appearance and personality. It's a clever way for the show to exchange actors without too much of a fuss.
When Eccleston's Doctor regenerated into the Tenth Doctor, played by David Tennant, there was a bit of an outrage. People threatened to quit watching the show, and Tennant was criticized for his portrayal of the doctor in the closing minutes of the series one finale, "The Parting of the Ways." Over the course of the next three seasons (and eight specials), however, Tennant's Doctor became one of the most beloved actors to ever portray the benevolent alien — he was even recently voted the best Doctor by fans. »

Lost Spoilers — Cuffed Characters
In perhaps the most yawn-worthy day of Lost-mas yet, Kristin dos Santos of E! Online revealed that over the course of season six, three main characters would be arrested by the authorities, all separately. This will obviously take place in the reset timeline, though who would be arrested is anyone's guess. Kristin didn't offer much hints as to who would be bound by the long arm of the law. Here's Kristin's post:
Uh-oh, looks like a Lostie is in truh-ble!
Actually, make that three Losties.
As our 12 Days of Lost-Mas continues, I bring you scoop on a storyline shift for two characters in the upcoming final season of Lost (Feb. 2 on ABC).
Read on if you want to know…
According to my spies, the following is true:
Three main characters will be apprehended by the authorities this season.
Separately.
Guesses?
I do indeed have some guesses — let's see »

A 'Fringe' Episode From An Alternate Universe?
2 January 2010 9:37 AM, PST
Today, Fox released the new press release for Fringe's unaired episode from season one, "Unearthed." It feautred the general Fringeesque storyline about a girl who was thought to be brain-dead waking up, speaking alphanumeric code, and suddenly knowing all kinds of classified information. It sounds like an average Fringe episode from season one (not a bad thing, mind you, just not as good as the content we've been getting in season two), but the press release then says that "Unearthed" may not be from season one, or from season two. It may in fact be from an alternate universe, the press release claims.

Doctor Who Season 5 – New Trailer
1 January 2010 9:01 PM, PST
No sooner has David Tennant left Doctor Who behind than we are already getting a sneak preview about our Stephen Moffat-Matt Smith driven future. Yes, the BBC this evening released our first trailer of the newest season of Doctor Who, due on air in the UK this Spring.
The trailer gives us plenty of information about the future of the series, including the Doctor's new look Tardis exterior, his new look costume as well as what seems to be some slight visual changes with the show with the show itself seemingly using colder palettes, replacing the orange hues of the show with bluer, cooler colors, seemingly mimicing the change in logo.
Some of the treats you get to see include the return of the Weeping Angels and River Song, as well as lots of views of his new assistant Amy Pond and the return of the Doctor punching people! »

Review – Doctor Who : The End of Time Parts 1 and 2
1 January 2010 8:50 PM, PST
The Doctor - Doctor Who
Warning : There Are Potential Spoilers
Doctor Who, unlike any other show, before it or since, has thrived on a world of change. The character's basic premise of regeneration was built into the show to never have to rely on one single actor to take the role, and that the mantle could pass down from actor to actor generation to generation, era to era. The 2 part finale shown in the UK and Us during the Christmas and New Year period was designed to leave you in no doubt, then end of an era began in 2005 was here.
In an incredibly dark tale for Doctor Who, (Yes, even darker than the previous Waters of Mars special) the End of Time was very much a tale of two halves, something Russell T. Davies multi-part scripts have always suffered from. The first half of the show, shown on »

CSI: Miami — Season Eight so far
1 January 2010 4:17 PM, PST
For a few years CSI: Miami has been my favorite show. It has always been the one reason I looked forward to Monday nights. For some reason this has not been the case this season. I went from being excited about the show to almost dreading it. I am pretty sure I know why, but let’s just start with the changes that have been made this season.
Imagine my horror over the summer when I found out that Adam Rodriguez who plays Eric Delko would only be in a handful of episodes over the course of this season. He is by far one of my favorite characters. He brings something to CSI: Miami that the other characters of the show are unable to capture. I have found myself counting down the weeks until he appears on the show because of what he brings to the show. He has always »

Promo – Doctor Who Series 5
1 January 2010 4:02 PM, PST
Well, David Tennant's time as the Doctor from the eponymous Doctor Who ended today with the second part of "The End of Time," which killed the Tenth Doctor and made him regenerate into the Eleventh. Since most Americans have not been able to watch the special (it premieres Saturday night on BBC America), I won't spoil the details of how the Doctor died (but steer clear of Wikipedia, because it is rife with Who spoilers).
But just because Tennant is gone doesn't mean that Who will end. As a matter of fact, it's just the opposite. The promo that you can see below shows how the show has almost been revitalized with the departure of Tennant and showrunner Russel T. Davies. It has a very different feel to it, and not just because twenty-seven-year-old Matt Smith is weilding the sonic screwdriver. New showrunner Steven Moffat is taking the show in a new direction, »

Fox's New Years Resolution – Don't Piss Off Football Fans
1 January 2010 5:45 AM, PST
It's a long ways from execs joining with Time Warner for a few bars of "Auld Lang Syne", but Fox has granted an extension that will allow its programming to continue airing on the cable giant while they handle out their deal. A lot of people were anticipating an eleventh-hour deal anyways, since Fox – an ad supported network – would only be shooting themselves in the foot by pulling the programming anyways. The presence of some pretty po'd football fans might have had an impact as well.
While plenty of us were kvetching about not being to watch House, the football set was getting a bit more aggressive. A couple of fans actually sued the network for an injunction in Florida. They lost, but when fans start calling their lawyers because of corporate bad behavior, you know things are getting real.
The drama centers around Fox's demand to be paid $1 for each subscriber. »

2010 in Television: What's Next?
31 December 2009 5:50 PM, PST
2009 is over, and with it, the first decade of the 21st century. It's likely that by the time you're reading this, 2010 will have begun with delightful fanfare in Times Square and throughout the world. But before you go worrying yourself about the economy or political situations that will unfold in the new year, you should first think about what's most important about the new year: how it will look in television.
While 2009 television had its ups and downs (by ups, I mean things like Modern Family and Glee; by downs, I mean Jersey Shore and Jon and Kate), and 2010 will likely have much of the same. However, things are looking up for the new year: reality shows will be struck a grievous blow by the wilderness, more soldiers will fight for the grand army of the HBO, and a beloved mystery will finally be solved.

Lost Spoiler — Don't Quote Them
31 December 2009 12:34 PM, PST
Well, Lost fans, it looks like Kristin dos Santos of E! Online has released the ninth day of Lost-mas, even though Christmas was technically over a week ago (not that we're complaining, right?). After the eighth day's scoop about Miles hearing some messages from the show's deceased characters, she's given us a couple of quotes that are fom people who are supposed to be dead — or are dead already. There are five quotes in all, and we'll tackle them one by one to try an unlock some sort of meaning from them, or at least find out who made these utterances.
First, here's Kristin's original post:
