Exclusive: 'Nurse Jackie' drops Mo-Mo!

I hate to be the bearer of rotten news just three days before Christmas, but I just learned that one of my (and no doubt your) favorite Nurse Jackie characters will not be returning for the show's upcoming second season.
I'm taking about Mohammed "Mo-Mo" De La Cruz, the sasstastic gay nurse played by Haaz Sleiman. A Showtime rep confirmed that Sleiman is no longer with the acclaimed dramedy (which returns on March 22), but provided no further details. A rep for Sleiman, meanwhile, says producers felt "the character's storyline ran its course... We were surprised. It came out of left field.

'Dollhouse' exclusive: Eliza Dushku's BF Rick Fox moves in!

I think it's getting serious: Eliza Dushku and real-life boyfriend Rick Fox are playing Dollhouse together!
Sources confirm to me exclusively that the hoops star-turned-actor (Dirt, One Tree Hill) will appear as an Active in the Jan. 8 episode of the soon-to-expire drama.
In the don't-blink-or-you'll-miss-it cameo, Fox's Doll will be seen rising from the imprint chair after having been given his original personality back. Next thing you know (spoiler alert!), he's being released into the wild along with dozens of other Dolls.
The episode, which airs two weeks before Dollhouse's series finale on Jan. 22, also features a return appearance by Summer Glau.

This Just In: Starz renews 'Spartacus'

Starz must be feeling mighty confident about its new series Spartacus: Blood and Sand. The pay cabler has renewed the big budget action adventure for a second season — a whole month before the premiere of season 1. The 13-episode second season will begin production early next year.

Exclusive: 'Vampire Diaries' lures 'L Word' babe Mia Kirshner

Here's proof that the TV biz hasn't completely closed up shop for the holidays: L Word and 24 alum Mia Kirshner has just inked a deal to join the cast of The Vampire Diairies on a recurring basis, sources confirm to me exclusively.
Kirshner will be playing the role of Isobel, the sweet-yet-dangerous wife of Matt Davis' history teacher, Alaric. She's slated to debut in January.

'American Idol' first look: Season 9 ad campaign!

What were you expecting, an image of Simon and Ellen duking it out in a ring? Or maybe a solo shot of Ellen busting a move? Silly you for buying into all the media hype surrounding the big judging panel makeover. American Idol is a singing competition, and judging by the "key art" for the show's ninth season (debuting Jan 12), Fox hasn't lost sight of that.
