After many years of separation, Micol (Silvia Cohen) learns about the mysterious suicide of her father Simone (Giacomo Piperno). Arriving in Venice for the funerals the woman feels she must reconstruct the life of her father who had abandoned her during childhood. Inquiring she discovers that her parent has had to cohabit with the terrible memory of the Holocaust. She meets Leo Steiner (Giancarlo Giannini), an Ukrainian Hebrew friend of Simone in Birkenau, who lives with Norma (Andrea Jonasson), a jazz singer, also a survivor to the horror of the concentration camp. Very soon Micol guesses that her father has indeed been killed and that a group of venetian Hebrews guards a deadly secret. Her past in the Israeli intelligence agencies helps her to feel the right track, but will she be able to face the devastating truth?
