Trivia

According to Richard Blood (Ricky Steamboat), Randy Savage planned every single move in their match. Wrestling matches are usually improvised except for the finish. But Savage was such a perfectionist that he wrote every step in the match on papers and faxed them to Steamboat for him to memorize. See more »

Quotes

Gene Okerlund: Moments away from the biggest heavyweight title defense of this man ever. Hulk Hogan, you've got to be ready.
Hulk Hogan: Well you know, the whole Pontiac, Michigan recovers man. I'm glad I snuck in early last night brother. I didn't realize the interstates, the Pontiac Silverdome was in danger. Not the 90,000 plus on the inside. It's the 90,000 plus on the outside of the Silverdome. Those are the ones I'm worried about, because when I get my hands on that big nasty giant. When he faces the truth. When he ...

Two Main Events!
18 January 2001 | by See all my reviews

The main event, possibly the largest in WWF history, featured Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan in a match for the WWF Heavyweight title, that was semi-decent of a match, in my opinion. But, the show stealer had to be the classic that Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat and "Macho Man" Randy Savage put on, with the WWF Intercontinental title on the line. It was a classic battle, with both men showing true resilience, giving it their all in an epic battle, that, in my mind, was better than the main event itself. Ricky Steamboat ended up winning the match, and the WWF Intercontinental Title. That match alone is worth watching Wrestlemania III.
