Storyline

The Valley is about four prospectors who walk into a valley and unwittingly enter a rift in the time/space continuum. As they journey down the valley, one of the prospectors (Ian Middleton) gets taken away by a harpy. Another prospector (Peter Jackson) falls off a cliff. The two remaining (Ken Hammon and Andrew Neal) have to fight and destroy a cyclops. They build a raft, float across a lake, and see a building in ruins. This ruin, unbeknownst to them, is the Beehive building of Wellington city - they haven't travelled back in time but ahead into a post-apocalyptic world taken over by mythical beasts.

Pretty Neat...
31 August 2008 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I saw a little of this on the documentary The Sci-Fi Boys, and from what was shown was pretty entertaining. What Jackson did for stop-motion creatures was impressive, and his editing of mixing live-action with the stop-motion made for a nice big smile on my face.

The story is mainly about a cyclops and the misadventures of a boy, that takes place in the valley to which the monster lives.

If this is ever released on a DVD with one of Jackson's other features, it's well worth the time to watch.

To see the clip shown in The Sci-Fi Boys, it usually airs once and a while on the Sci-Fi Channel or can be purchased online.
