No. Final Destination 3 is the third movie in the Final Destination series. The first movie, Final Destination (2000) was originally conceived by American screenwriter Jeffrey Reddick as a episode of "The X Files " (1993-2002). The screenplay for Final Destination 3 was written by American producers Glen Morgan and James Wong, who also co-directed and co-produced the movie. Also in the franchise are Final Destination 2 (2003) and The Final Destination (2009), as well as several novels and a comic book series.
The voice of the devil outside the roller coaster ride is Tony Todd who played William Bludworth in the first two films. However, no one else from either the first or second movies is in this one.
Wendy (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) ducked of her own free will, yet the rules state someone must intervene in order for someone to be skipped, as no one can just save themselves.
