Valentine to Return in Resident Evil: Afterlife ?

10 hours ago | shocktillyoudrop.com | See recent shocktillyoudrop news »

Paul W.S. Anderson promised fans a few familiar faces would definitely be returning for Resident Evil: Afterlife . Ali Larter has returned as Claire Redfield, then there is Spencer Locke's K-Mart. From the video game series? Chris Redfield (Wentworth Miller) and Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts). Well, how about Jill Valentine? That's right. Star Milla Jovovich dropped a Tweeter via her Twitter account earlier today that said: "Valentine May be back." We haven't seen that character on the screen since Sienna Guillory played her in Resident Evil: Apocalypse . Insiders told me during Resident Evil: Extinction 's production that Guillory didn't return over contract disputes. Is the actress back or have they re-cast Valentine? We'll see. Jovovich also had... »

Milla Jovovich Tweets from the Set of Resident Evil: Afterlife

4 November 2009 5:11 AM, PST | Reelzchannel.com | See recent ReelzChannel news »

Milla Jovovich is using her Twitter account to update fans while shooting Resident Evil: Afterlife in Toronto, Canada.

wow, just finished a scene with Ali Larter and Wentworth Miller on a skiff approaching the huge ship.to say its cold is a joke.a bitter joke

ofcourse Ali and I aren't wearing much and to make matters worse Wenty is driving the boat himself and crashing it repeatedly! lol!

Jovovich is reprising her role as Alice from the previous Resident Evil movies, while Larter is returning to her Resident Evil: Extinction role of Claire Redfield, and Miller is making his Resident Evil debut as Larter's brother, Chris. Paul W.S. Anderson is returning to direct Afterlife from his own script, which he is shooting in 3-D. From Jovovich's tweets, it would appear that Anderson is planning a good deal of action.

the cast is going on set and we have a lot of weapons. »

Abu-Assad and Jeffrey Dean Morgan are the New 'Courier'

29 October 2009 | ioncinema | See recent ioncinema news »

- What an odd move it would make to see Hany Abu-Assad (who has been waiting, and waiting some more for his next project to unfold) to move from Paradise Now onto a screenplay written from the pair who gave us 3:10 to Yuma, currently lensing The A-Team and the "Wanted" franchise. According to the Production Weekly twitter feed, Abu-Assad has replaced the once pegged Russell Mulcahy (Resident Evil: Extinction) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan will take on the role that originally went to Adrien Brody. Somehow Morgan delivering a suitcase is slightly more believable than Brody delivering the goods.   The Courier centers on a daredevil courier who's pursued across the country by corrupt cops and rival crime bosses when he has to deliver a briefcase to a notorious underworld figure who can't be found. I haven't read the script, but I imagine this will have less screeching wheels than what »

Fashion fix of the week: Casio G-Shock DW6600 watch from Resident Evil: Extinction

28 October 2009 6:04 AM, PDT | Boxwish.com | See recent BoxWish news »

Post-apocalyptic fashion is often surprisingly smart in the stylish world of cinema. There’s no need to make do in battered rags or cardboard on your feet, as those meticulous movie folk still manage to flaunt cool clobber regardless of the sad state of the world. And leading the charge is Nurse Betty (played by R’n’B singing star Ashanti), one of the survivors of the nasty T-virus in Resident Evil: Extinction. In this third instalment of the video game film franchise, the plucky medic zooms into focus on our style-o-meter (fictional, but nonetheless a great idea, don’t you think?) with her Casio G-Shock DW6600 watch. And so we continue the Halloween theme that has pervaded our recent fashion fixes, by naming it this week’s entry. »

Resident Evil: Afterlife

9 October 2009 2:20 PM, PDT | Atomic Popcorn | See recent Atomic Popcorn news »

It takes skill to make a franchise of movies that remains consistently good from the original movie to each subsequent movie. The Resident Evil franchise is one that I feel has managed to do this. However, this may be due to a personal bias that Resident Evil’s character ‘Alice’ is one of the best female characters in any film (no damsel in distress here!).

That being said, those who saw the third of the Resident Evil movies, Resident Evil: Extinction, and felt that it ended with the blatant a very blatant suggestion of a sequel to follow can now look forward to just that.

The fourth in the series, Resident Evil: Afterlife is slated to hit theaters in August of 2010, and brings back Paul W.S. Anderson (director of the first film in the franchise) to write, direct, and produce the film. Many of the actors from the previous films »

Zombieland Review

2 October 2009 7:46 AM, PDT | ReelLoop.com | See recent Reel Loop news »

Unjustly, many will compare Zombieland to Shaun of the Dead. While it’s true both share zombies, comedy and solid stories, each has different goals. Shaun revels in being a mockery of the zombie genre, even stooping so far as to imitate the effects of those pictures. Zombieland may poke fun, but it’s more concerned with being a comedy rather than a parody. If indeed that was the intention then director Ruben Fleischer has failed in that regard. Yet the fact remains; Zombieland is one of the most fun and enjoyable films of the year.

Let’s start at the top with Woody Harrelson turning in a hilariously awesome performance as Tallahassee. It’s tough to imagine Woody Boyd being this incredibly kick-ass, but Harrelson absolutely dunks it. He doesn’t go overboard with it, and keeps the toughness in check. He’s countered by a very solid Jesse Eisenberg, »

1 October 2009 11:01 AM, PDT | FilmJunk | See recent FilmJunk news »

In a press release issued earlier this week, Sony Screen Gems announced that the fourth Resident Evil movie has officially started production in Toronto. As you are probably well aware, Paul W. S. Anderson is "back in his triple threat capacity" as writer, director and producer of the flick, but what you may not know is that Resident Evil: Afterlife is being shot in 3-D! Pretty exciting, right? Okay, maybe not. Although the plot is still being kept under wraps, Anderson offered the following tidbits: "Alice's battle with The Umbrella Corporation isn't finished. Last time we saw Alice, she let them know she was coming after them. It's time to settle the score." Milla Jovovich will, of course, reprise her role as Alice, and both Ali Larter and Spencer Locke will continue their roles from Resident Evil: Extinction as Claire Redfield and K-Mart respectively.
