But before we get to interviews with them plus the author Sapphire and the film’s cast Mo’ Nique, Gabourey Sidibe and Mariah Carey, let’s talk about this title.
Ok, I get it. You couldn’t call the movie Push, because that title was just used earlier this year in the sci-fi flick starring Dakota Fanning and Chris Evans.
But what’s wrong with calling it Precious and leaving it at that? With the marketing blitz this film is sure to get (from Oprah alone), how many people will only read a title, and strictly base whether they will see »

To most Twilight fans, Summit Entertainment is the production and distribution company responsible for Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and Robert Pattinson's Remember Me. You might also know them for their presentation of Dakota Fanning's Push and the New Moon trailer-previewed Bandslam. To the film community (particularly the international film community), though, they are a surprising case study in international prowess. A recent Variety article took a look at the success that Summit Entertainment has enjoyed abroad. While many in the industry have lamented the sorry state of foreign sales, Summit has been consistently selling everything on its slate. At Cannes, the company did brisk pre-sale business on films ranging from "Fair Game" (a thriller starring Sean Penn and Naomi Watts) to Roman Polanski's "The Ghost," animated pic "Astro Boy" and "Twilight" sequel "New Moon." .... It’s a slow week for movie releases, with Fantastic Mr. Fox the only release of note in the UK, along with Cirque Du Freak. Most of the remaining big films this year are due out in November and December.
So, with the big winter films already hyped to the max, and with Iron Man 2, Clash of the Titans and Robin Hood being the highly anticipated movies this Spring, I thought i’d take a look at some Spring movies that maybe aren’t getting the attention they deserve – The Losers, Green Zone, A Couple of Dicks, Machete and Kick-Ass. Note, this is a list of the films i’m personally looking forward to, so you won’t necessarily agree with me…
When is it? – 9th April.
Where is it? – Currently filming in Puerto Rico
