Goofs

Reno gets a free drink chit when he enters the bar. He orders and drinks a whiskey shooter while talking to the bartender. After the bartender leaves Reno is seen taking another shot even though the bartender never poured him a second drink.

Either Reno helped himself to a second drink that was left over on the bar counter or the second drink is a continuity error. See more »

Quotes

Reno Crevice: Of course you gotta think. Thinking's the fun part of it. Thinking about it. Thinking about what's gonna happen. Listen to that little wheel of fortune click and turn into place when you ease back the hammer. Feeling that metal get warm against your skin. Wondering what it's gonna be like to feel your brains blown out through the side of your head. Wondering what comes after, if anything, or black. Wondering if youre gonna scream. What do you think, Sam? You gonna scream? Yeah, you will.

Who will end up left with the better hand?
22 July 2011 | by (Edinburgh.) – See all my reviews

Not one of the better Tales From The Crypt but entertaining nonetheless, thanks mainly to the performances form Lance Henriksen and Kevin Tighe in the leading roles, this little slice of macabre entertainment was directed and co-written by Walter Hill (his second time at the helm after kicking season one off with "The Man Who Was Death").

It's a tale of two competing gamblers (Henriksen and Tighe) who just don't know when to quit and keep raising the stakes with each hand played.

There's a punchline that's obvious but amusing, and less proper nastiness when compared to some of the better episodes, but this episode is still well worth watching thanks to the exchanges between Henriksen and Tighe, full of insults and challenges and a mix of admiration and loathing.

Certainly not essential viewing but, like most episodes of this show, worth spending just over 20 minutes with while there's nothing better on.
