Sam Worthington has admitted that he would rather filming fighting scenes in "Avatar" than making out with Keira Knightley in 2010 movie "Last Night". The 33-year-old recently told Live magazine, "To be honest I craved a gun and a sword while I was doing 'Last Night' opposite Keira Knightley. I didn't get the same kind of rush from the kissing scenes."
On the fighting scenes shooting for the James Cameron-directed movie itself, the actor claimed he didn't do any training or preparation because he found that exercise was pointless. "I did nothing. I am not one of these yoga 'I only want wheatgrass and blueberry muffins' guys, and I don't go to the gym, I think it's pointless. If I pick up something heavy it's because I'm going to move it," Sam revealed.
Sam Worthington stars as Michael Reed, the husband of Keira Knightley's Joanna in "Last Night". He, »

While we continue to await evidence that Aussie actor Sam Worthington is qualified to wear the A-list label, he keeps working on more opportunities to prove it. The impending blockbuster star (Avatar, Clash Of The Titans) is now attached to an adaptation of the upcomig Radical Comics series The Last Days Of American Crime. Worthington would presumably not be playing the character on the cover. The book comes from prolific comic writer Rick Remender (Fear Agent, Punisher) and artist Greg... »

Rising star Sam Worthington continues to build quite a career for himself: he’s already starred in Terminator Salvation, and has both James Cameron’s Avatar and the remake of Clash of the Titans on deck, two huge properties I think you’ll agree. Now, adding to that ever-growing list of Worthington movies is The Last Days of American Crime, an adaptation of an upcoming comic book/graphic novel of the same name from Radical Publishing.
Comic creator Rick Remender created and wrote The Last Days of American Crime, and Mania reports that he will also pen the script for the big-screen adaptation. The comic is described as, “a heist thriller told against a sci-fi backdrop.” From Radical’s website, here’s the synopsis:

Here’s hoping that Sam Worthington is the real deal. He was good in Terminator Salvation (although he had some trouble nailing down an American accent and occasionally lapsed back into his native Australian) but he’ll have to win over audiences in a big way with his leading performances in Avatar and Clash of the Titans if he wants to lessen the inevitable backlash towards him for having the audacity to be a rising star in Hollywood.
Thankfully, Worthington is playing it smart and not trying to be the biggest star in every upcoming blockbuster. He’ll just be one of the biggest co-stars in the upcoming adaptation of the upcoming comic book series The Last Days of American Crime. Hit the jump for details.
Here’s how Mania.com describes the plot of the sci-fi crime thriller:
In a near-future America, news has broken that, in a matter of weeks, »

Sam Worthington is to play the lead in a film adaptation of Radical Publishing's The Last Days of American Crime, reports Mania.
Written by Rick Remender, who's also penning the screenplay, the comic book is a fast-paced crime story set in the not-too-distant future.
The Us government is planning to halt terrorism and crime by secretly broadcasting a mind-control signal that stops people committing unlawful acts.
To keep this from the public, the government creates a distraction with a new currency system using digital charge cards.
The media leaks news of the anti-crime signal a week before it goes live, and just as career criminal Graham Brick (Worthington) is planning to steal one of the charging stations, skip the country and live off unlimited funds for the rest of his life.
He and and his team now have just a few days pull off the last crime in American history. »

“Terminator: Salvation” star Sam Worthington has signed on to appear in the film adaptation of Rick Remender's upcoming miniseries “The Last Days of American Crime."
Created and written by Remender with artist Greg Tocchini, “Last Days” takes place in the near future where the U.S. government is about to implement a new technology that will make it impossible for anyone to commit a crime. Following the revelation of this plan, a downtrodden career criminal named Graham Brick is forced to quickly assemble a team to help him pull off what may be the last heist in American history.
According to Mania.com, Worthington will portray Kevin Cash, a safecracker recruited by Brick who may be a dangerously unstable sociopath.
After his turn as the Human/Terminator hybrid Marcus Wright in last summer’s “Terminator: Salvation”, Worthington’s next film will be the hotly anticipated “Avatar” by director James Cameron. »
