Californication: Which Woman Will Hank Choose?

Californication's Hank Moody (David Duchovny) has really done it this time.

The charming lothario was already in deep: He's bedded both his teaching assistant (Diane Farr) and a student (Eva Amurri), and he's got the prim-and-proper dean's wife (Embeth Davidtz) all hot and bothered. But now, Hank's soulmate and mother of his child, Karen (Natascha McElhone), has returned from New York, sending Professor Moody into female frenzy.

Check out photos of the Californication cast

In Sunday's episode (10/9c, Showtime), Hank will try to do right by Karen and end things with the other women. As the saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Fortunately for us, though, the results are quite hilarious. TVGuide.com chatted up all of Hank's ladies to see just how much worse things are going to get for him before they get better. »

Californication Season 3 Episode 7 (Preview): So Here’s The Thing…

2 November 2009 8:30 PM, PST | BuzzFocus.com | See recent BuzzFocus.com news »

Time to revisit an age old story, can Hank finally man up and commit to Karen? If you think the answer is "yes" then you have a lot to learn about Californication. So far, Karen has already uncovered two of Hank's college vixens, Jill and Jackie, while Becca's relationship with Chelsea has has kept Felicia's wandering eyes and bourgeois claws under wraps. Since we've beaten that bush (no pun intended) ad nauseam, let's chat about another Cali character that has raised the bar on sexual tension this season: Sue Collini. Step aside Lew Ashby, Collini trumps our buried sexual compass with every raspy utterance. Kathleen Turner is sexual brilliance at it's best. Every moment Turner is on screen is filled with laughter, raunchy Showtime humor and more than a touch of shock. Episode 6's pseudo-sex scene with the dresser was one for the ages, and I'm sure Runkle thinks the »

Californication Review: "Glass Houses"

1 November 2009 8:28 PM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Karen is back in La and she's kicking ass and taking names!

Boy, does she have Hank's number - but, she's not too concerned with his sexual exploits - what she is concerned about is Becca. This mama bear feels threatened and the claws come out - against the Koons', who she criticizes for poor parenting, but look who's talking!

Of course, whenever a teenager is acting horrible, the parent is going to blame it on the bad influence best friend. Chelsea's parents are the cool aloof parents who aren't bothered by teenage rebellion - Karen is high strung when she hears the girls break into a wine stash to get drunk and find Chelsea's parents drinking as well. The Koons' are all too cool about everything - remember how Felicia responded to hearing about the girls' smoking Hank's pot? No big deal! Well, for Karen, everything is a big deal, »

Moon Bloodgood's Topless 'Terminator: Salvation' Scene: Worth the 'R' Rating?

30 October 2009 10:02 AM, PDT | Cinematical | See recent Cinematical news »

What's happened to all the great movie nudity lately? Billy Crudup started the year off with a bang, so to speak, with his big blue penis in Watchmen, and Marcus Nispel's Friday the 13th reboot featured sweaty sex and generous amounts of naked female flesh, but the summer and fall seasons have been curiosly bereft of talked-about sex scenes or body parts. Jessica Biel's bravely-bared breasts and backside in Powder Blue went direct to video, Hayden Panetierre nonchalantly limited her exposure to 'side boobage' in I Love You, Beth Cooper, and Megan Fox decided to keep her nipples to herself in the proudly feminist relationship drama ('cause it sure wasn't horror) Jennifer's Body.

In my youth, movies educated me about the wonderful diversity of naked bodies. Today, television and the Internet have stolen much of the thunder once claimed exclusively by the theatrical experience. (Case in point: Susan Sarandon's daughter, »

50 Influential Scream Queens: Part 1

27 October 2009 5:54 AM, PDT | Fangoria | See recent Fangoria news »

Given man's unwavering fascination with woman, it's no surprise that the female star acts as the anchor to a dominant portion of horror pictures. I mean really, who wants to see a bare chested man tearin ass through the woods screaming at the top of his lungs while a bladed assailant nips at his heels? I don't - I know that much, although I'm certain there are plenty of men who would disagree (and that's okay with me, to each his own!). The simple fact remains however, women bring a unique appeal and certain sensual atmosphere to film that no man ever could. And it's not all about gratuitous T&A.

There's a comforting quality in the hands of the heroine; a fascinating maternal strength that, as a man I cannot genuinely relate to. I can however admire, and in many cases it's nearly impossible to not admire the lone »

Susan Sarandon encourages her daughter to play a stripper

Susan Sarandon encouraged her daughter to play a stripper.

The Oscar-winning actress told 24-year-old Eva Amurri to take on the role in Us TV show 'Californication' - which involves her baring her body - as she had the figure to do it.

Eva said: "I wasn't sure but mom reassured me and told me to do it while I was young."

However, Eva admits her brothers - Jack, 20, and 17-year-old Miles - weren't so impressed.

She said: "Hopefully, one day my brothers will forgive me."

Susan recently defended her daughter's appearance in the show and insisted she enjoyed every moment of Eva's performance as David Duchovny's character Hank Moody's lover.

The 63-year-old actress said: "I've seen bits and pieces of some of the nudity and she looks beautiful - if you have it, why not?"

Californication Review: "Slow Happy Boys"

25 October 2009 9:17 PM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

This week's episode of Californication was called "Slow Happy Boys," but it's another installment of men behaving badly, with Hank and Charlie doing their usual thing and guest star Kevin Corrigan playing Hank's wayward former best-friend, Mike Zlosowski, or "Zlos."

Zlos just doesn't know how to behave in La - apparently, he doesn't know proper etiquette for dealing with lap dancing strippers and misleading transexuals. He's getting an education this weekend, nonetheless.

Hank is screwing around some more with his student, Jackie. We like Jackie as a character, but it just gets annoying that Hank sleeps with everyone. It's totally predictable now, and since the romantic conflict between Hank and Karen is null (since characters are abiding by a "don't ask don't tell" policy), there really is nothing exciting about Hank's sexual exploits.

But, me thinks there is hope! Since Karen surprised Hank with a visit, tensions are sure to grow! »

A Follow Up: "Hank Moody: For Women Only" (Question)

24 October 2009 1:27 PM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

As a follow up to the previous "Don Draper: For Women Only", it has been suggested that I repeat the question, substituting Hank Moody of Californication (Showtime) for Don Draper of Mad Men. Like Draper, Moody seems irresistible to women, but unlike Draper Moody is not quite a cad -- rascal, yes, rogue, maybe, but not a cad. He too is charming and handsome, but the very opposite of suave, and he seems not to chase women, rather charming them into chasing him. Moody, played by David Duchovny, is no where nearly as financially successful as Draper, nor is he a business man. He is a writer travelling in Hollywood's creative circles, who out of financial need has just accepted a job as a college professor. The "Don Draper: For Women... »

Sarandon's Daughter Upsets Brothers With Stripping Scenes

Amurri admits her mum encouraged her to take on the controversial role, suggesting she "do it while you're young," but half brothers Miles, 17, and Jack, 20, weren't so accommodating.

David Duchovny wants more “alien-oriented conspiracy”

22 October 2009 11:09 AM, PDT | ReelLoop.com | See recent Reel Loop news »

Californication star David Duchovny has had a lukewarm relationship with the box office. His last feature, The X-Files: I Want to Believe, made a lackluster $10 million on its opening weekend and went on to make a mesely $68.1 million worldwide. If you ask Duchovny, who played the alien-loving Agent Mulder, what went wrong, he might tell you it was because the story was away from the heart of the popular Fox show. You know, cigerett smoking man and stuff?

“As far as the X-Files movie I’d like to do next, if we get a chance to do it, would be a return to the heart and soul of the mythology, which is the alien-oriented conspiracy,” Duchovny said. ” I think it’s natural for The X-Files to have another movie in 2012, so we’ll see if we get to do it.”

David Duchovny hopes for third X-Files movie in 2012

21 October 2009 10:27 AM, PDT | The Geek Files | See recent The Geek Files news »

In August, X-Files star Gillian Anderson said she would be happy to reprise her role as agent Dana Scully in a third X-Files movie and suggested that it was already in the early stages of development

The good news today is that co-star David Duchovny - currently playing sex-obsessed novelist Hank Moody in the TV series Californication - has confirmed he is also willing to return as Fox Mulder.

There have so far been two feature film spin-offs from the hit TV series: Fight the Future in 1998 and last year's I Want to Believe.

Earlier speculation said that the next movie would focus on the 2012 alien invasion revealed in the final episode of the TV series, where Mulder and Scully learned the event was foretold in the Mayan calendar.

Duchovny had last year expressed a hope for further films and he has now told The Daily Beast: "As far as »

David Duchovny has revealed that he would like to see a third X-Files movie in cinemas by 2012. The 49-year-old played Fox Mulder in the TV series from 1993 until 2002. Duchovny Looks To X-Files 3

20 October 2009 11:32 PM, PDT | FilmShaft.com | See recent FilmShaft.com news »

With The X Files: I Want to Believe having done okay at the box office last year and fans calling for more of Agents Mulder and Scully, David Duchovny (Agent Fox Mulder to the uninitiated) has been talking about the possibility of a third X-Files film.

The original X-Files series, which ran from 1993 to 2002 made global stars of Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, making global stars of the pair. Duchovny has since gone on to find television fame once more with the character Hank Moody in the Showtime original series Californication, but could there really be a third film, does The X-Files still have a story to tell?

David Duchovny Wants To Believe That A Third 'X-Files' Movie Could Happen

20 October 2009 2:00 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Following the widely-perceived failure of "X-Files: I Want To Believe," does anybody really want or need to see a third installment in the "X-Files" movie franchise? Anybody? Anybody? Bueller?

Apparently, David Duchovny — none other than Fox Mulder himself, kids — is up for it.

In an interview with The Daily Beast, the "Californication" star spoke about his hopes for a third "X-Files" film. Duchovny believes that "X-Files 3" could be perfectly appropriate for a 2012 release, thanks to the year's supposedly catastrophic nature according to Nostradamus and Roland Emmerich's (via the Mayan civilization) prophecies.

"As far as the X-Files movie I'd like to do next, if we get a chance to do it, would be a return to the heart and soul of the mythology, which is the alien-oriented conspiracy," Duchovny said. "I think it's natural for 'The X-Files' to have another movie in 2012, so we'll see if we get to do it. »
