Girl-fights! Tonight's episode of Californication was full of them and we loved it!
Claws Out: Becca and Chelsea got into a real fight! The two besties break into fisticuffs when tempers flare over their parents' recent indiscretion. Unfortunately, we didn't see any of the action, but just hearing about it was reward enough. Oh, and seeing Chelsea's nasty black eye - nice work, Becca! So what if the girls are getting expelled? Becca was leaving at the end of the semester anyway to move to NYC!
As an aside, can Hank and the gang really move as a family out to NYC? Could the show still go on if they were based on the east coast? The show is called Californication after all...
Claws Bared: Karen has her claws ready to attack Felicia Koons. Her hatred for Felicia is pretty hilarious. When she finds out about the affair Hank had with her, »

If you have followed "Californication" on Showtime this season, you have received an eyeful of some naked celebrities. Susan Sarandon's daughter Eva Amurri has made waves, revealing her inherited bodacious "girls" from good ol' mom, along with the delicious bonus of a hyper-sexualized, ego-maniacal version of Rick Springfield, played by Rick himself. And Kathleen Turner's character, Sue Collini...don't even get me started. After the initial shock, her over-the-top Sue Mengers-meets-Xaviera Hollander 'Happy Hooker' moments with Charlie Runkel (Evan Handler) have made the season for me. "Collini out..." Springfield's guest starring episodes on this season of the Showtime hit have given Neil Patrick Harris a run for his money in the self-satire department. Springfield has »

In the cover story for the December issue of the UK’s Psychologies magazine, Natascha McElhone says that memories of her late husband Martin Kelly are never far, for so much of him lives on in the couple’s three sons Theodore, 9, Otis, 6 ½, and Rex, 13 months. “Their brains are very much like Martin’s, thank God, because he had an extraordinary brain,” she muses.
Just like Martin, Theo is “a little chess fiend” who has “a fascination for science and how things work,” Natascha says. Otis and Rex, meanwhile, take after their dad in other ways. »

Whether flicking a cigarette at Mandy Moore or ripping her shirt off in mock religious fervor, Eva Amurri established in 2004's Saved! that she is a credible, and often intimidating, actress -- not just Susan Sarandon's daughter. This fall, the Brown alum embarked on a meaty ten-episode Californication arc as Jackie, one of Hank's (David Duchovny) brightest college students, who just happens to moonlight as a stripper. The revealing role, which immediately unearthed an avalanche of internet buzz, re-established that the 24 year-old can command a scene, regardless of whether or not she is clothed.
Last week, the actress spoke to Movieline about her arc on Californication, that rumor that she and her mother took pole-dancing classes together and her career aspirations. »

This week's episode of Californication, called "The Apartment," really made a huge comeback after last week's slump!
In the newest episode, Hank has a string of unsolicited visitors to his apartment, which results in games of hide and seek that are reminiscent of something out of Three's Company - we totally loved this week's episode! Did you? Let us know what you thought after reading our full recap of the episode!
For now, some musings on Hank and his female predicament:
Stacy Koons calls Hank the "girl whisperer," since women fall all over him even when he's such a jackass most of the time. There really is something special about Hank and Hank really nails it on the head when trying to explain to Becca why he behaves the way he does.
He did have good intentions with each of these women - with Jackie, he wanted to show her »

It's official, Kathleen Turner has a potty mouth. Well, that's actually an understatement. This season of Californication has exposed the sexual beast that is Kathleen Turner and we can't get enough of it. Surprisingly, Kathleen says she is often shocked by what her character, Sue Collini, has to say and do. "I'm just like blushing," Turner says. Turner describes her character in the first script as a force of nature, and anyone who has witnessed this season of Californication can testify to that. She's hands down the best guest star this show has ever had the pleasure of featuring. »

David Duchovny found his second great role in this sly, funny and startlingly frank adventures of a cultish writer in creative block
It took David Duchovny a while to find the perfect role after The X Files, but a decade on he has struck gold again, as tormented writer Hank Moody. The suspicion that he was perfectly cast as the laconic, irresistibly attractive lead in comedy-drama Californication was only reinforced when, after winning a Golden Globe last year for his performance in the first season, the actor promptly announced he was seeking clinical treatment for sex addiction.
Now midway through its third season in the Us, Californication is the tale of a cultish author struggling with a mid-career creative block, a disorienting move from New York to La, and the collapse of his relationship with his soulmate Karen (the luminous Natascha McElhone, in a nicely pitched study of amused but exasperated indulgence). So far, »

Californication's Hank Moody (David Duchovny) has really done it this time.
The charming lothario was already in deep: He's bedded both his teaching assistant (Diane Farr) and a student (Eva Amurri), and he's got the prim-and-proper dean's wife (Embeth Davidtz) all hot and bothered. But now, Hank's soulmate and mother of his child, Karen (Natascha McElhone), has returned from New York, sending Professor Moody into female frenzy.

In Sunday's episode (10/9c, Showtime), Hank will try to do right by Karen and end things with the other women. As the saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Fortunately for us, though, the results are quite hilarious. TVGuide.com chatted up all of Hank's ladies to see just how much worse things are going to get for him before they get better. »

Time to revisit an age old story, can Hank finally man up and commit to Karen? If you think the answer is "yes" then you have a lot to learn about Californication. So far, Karen has already uncovered two of Hank's college vixens, Jill and Jackie, while Becca's relationship with Chelsea has has kept Felicia's wandering eyes and bourgeois claws under wraps. Since we've beaten that bush (no pun intended) ad nauseam, let's chat about another Cali character that has raised the bar on sexual tension this season: Sue Collini. Step aside Lew Ashby, Collini trumps our buried sexual compass with every raspy utterance. Kathleen Turner is sexual brilliance at it's best. Every moment Turner is on screen is filled with laughter, raunchy Showtime humor and more than a touch of shock. Episode 6's pseudo-sex scene with the dresser was one for the ages, and I'm sure Runkle thinks the »

Karen is back in La and she's kicking ass and taking names!
Boy, does she have Hank's number - but, she's not too concerned with his sexual exploits - what she is concerned about is Becca. This mama bear feels threatened and the claws come out - against the Koons', who she criticizes for poor parenting, but look who's talking!
Of course, whenever a teenager is acting horrible, the parent is going to blame it on the bad influence best friend. Chelsea's parents are the cool aloof parents who aren't bothered by teenage rebellion - Karen is high strung when she hears the girls break into a wine stash to get drunk and find Chelsea's parents drinking as well. The Koons' are all too cool about everything - remember how Felicia responded to hearing about the girls' smoking Hank's pot? No big deal! Well, for Karen, everything is a big deal, »

What's happened to all the great movie nudity lately? Billy Crudup started the year off with a bang, so to speak, with his big blue penis in Watchmen, and Marcus Nispel's Friday the 13th reboot featured sweaty sex and generous amounts of naked female flesh, but the summer and fall seasons have been curiosly bereft of talked-about sex scenes or body parts. Jessica Biel's bravely-bared breasts and backside in Powder Blue went direct to video, Hayden Panetierre nonchalantly limited her exposure to 'side boobage' in I Love You, Beth Cooper, and Megan Fox decided to keep her nipples to herself in the proudly feminist relationship drama ('cause it sure wasn't horror) Jennifer's Body.
In my youth, movies educated me about the wonderful diversity of naked bodies. Today, television and the Internet have stolen much of the thunder once claimed exclusively by the theatrical experience. (Case in point: Susan Sarandon's daughter, »

Given man's unwavering fascination with woman, it's no surprise that the female star acts as the anchor to a dominant portion of horror pictures. I mean really, who wants to see a bare chested man tearin ass through the woods screaming at the top of his lungs while a bladed assailant nips at his heels? I don't - I know that much, although I'm certain there are plenty of men who would disagree (and that's okay with me, to each his own!). The simple fact remains however, women bring a unique appeal and certain sensual atmosphere to film that no man ever could. And it's not all about gratuitous T&A.
There's a comforting quality in the hands of the heroine; a fascinating maternal strength that, as a man I cannot genuinely relate to. I can however admire, and in many cases it's nearly impossible to not admire the lone »

Susan Sarandon encouraged her daughter to play a stripper.
The Oscar-winning actress told 24-year-old Eva Amurri to take on the role in Us TV show 'Californication' - which involves her baring her body - as she had the figure to do it.
Eva said: "I wasn't sure but mom reassured me and told me to do it while I was young."
However, Eva admits her brothers - Jack, 20, and 17-year-old Miles - weren't so impressed.
She said: "Hopefully, one day my brothers will forgive me."
Susan recently defended her daughter's appearance in the show and insisted she enjoyed every moment of Eva's performance as David Duchovny's character Hank Moody's lover.
The 63-year-old actress said: "I've seen bits and pieces of some of the nudity and she looks beautiful - if you have it, why not?"
