When "Twilight" cast members began tweeting about subjects involving missing clothing, I definitely did not expect to log on to Twitter today and find out that Christian Serratos decided to outdo all of them, but but her new garment-less PETA ad definitely succeeded.
Dane Cook and Ice-t, meanwhile, were less focused on saving fur and more intent on playing "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" this weekend, according to their posts, and at least one of them found himself in possession of some nightvision goggles. Check all of that out after the jump along with Danny Masterson's criticism for Andre Agassi, "Toy Story 3" director Lee Unkrich's favorite childhood toy and much more. I'm @brianwarmoth and this is the Twitter-Wood report for November 9, 2009.

Jim Carrey plays eight roles in this stupendously visual reworking of Charles Dickens. iconic holiday tale; he delivers each character in unique ways, through accent, facial expression, and carriage. Each character rendering is unique, capturing him in different life stages, respectful of Carrey.s superhuman transformative powers. Carrey plays the gamut of emotions, and every one works because he is a stone cold genius. But our boy needs a hit about now following a long underwhelming run that includes The Number 23 and Yes Man. While A Christmas Carol will draw plenty of holiday traffic, and will enter the Christmas classic canon just because . it.s not the greatest offering from Disney. The artwork is nothing short of stupendous, »

Here at Boxwish, we don’t like to play favourites, electing one film, movie star or product as superior to all the others and yet sometimes it can be tough to maintain such principles. Just take Zooey Deschanel (easy boys!), the actress has snagged the likes of Jim Carrey, Will Ferrell and Joseph Gordon-Levitt with her offbeat charms onscreen, impresses with her musical talents (she performs with jazz act, If All The Stars Were Pretty Babies and has sung in many of her movies) and has a fashion sense to kill for, though thankfully, we’re not prepared to go that far. Yes, it’s fair to say we’re firmly lodged in Camp Zooey (if such a thing were to exist) and so we’re taking a leaf out of her style book with her vintage blue coat from Yes Man. »

Fox has picked up a presentation for an animated pilot from Jonah Hill. According to Variety, Hill is co-writing the untitled pilot with Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul ("Yes Man"). He'll also voice the main character, described as an uber-mature seven-year-old socialite forced to attend a public schedule. Mogel, Paul and Hill will all executive produce along with Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope through Chernin's new 20th Century Fox TV-based shingle. Hill was most recently seen in "Funny People." He's no stranger to animation voice-over work, with credits including "Horton Hears a Who!" and the upcoming "How to... »

According to Variety, Fox is going to develop a pitch from Jonah Hill (Superbad) that will be produced by Peter Chernin.
Fox will also put together a script based on Peter Bagge's graphic novel series The Bradleys.
Hill is going to provide the voiceover on his show. He will also write it with Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul (Yes Man).
The show will follow "a 7-year-old socialite who acts and talks like an adult." Things get really interesting when he has to go to public school.
The Bradleys script will be written by Peter Bagge and Matthew Lawton (Crank Yankers).
The Bradleys focuses on a dysfunctional suburban family. It was originally published in the early 1980s.
"I was obsessed with Peter Bagge's comics when I was a teen," Lawton states. "I ran away to Seattle at the age of 16, and was definitely this grumpy, disaffected punk kid."

The nice thing about Twitter-stalking celebrities is that under most circumstances there is no danger of injury or harm to personal property, which is more than can be said of Christian Serratos' mother's car today, according the "Twilight" star's tweets.
And while danger may not have been a factor, Miley Cyrus seems to have decided that Twitter is no longer the place for her, according to her final tweet before closing her account. I will personally miss the pictures or her mullet-wigged, surgical masked father, in addition to all of her meditative wisdom, and wish her well offline. Sarah Silverman, Ice-t and Jessica Simpson are all still online though. Believe or not, they all posted pics over the last 24 hours, and Silverman's is easily the least bizarre. Oh, and let's also take a moment to welcome Tracy Morgan to the Twitter community. He greets us with an ominous message, »

There was a lot to catch up on in Twitter-Wood today after my long weekend, including the 40th anniversary of Monty Python's first appearance on television, which member John Cleese and fan Edgar Wright both noted. Elsewhere, Edward Norton and Danny Masterson had good things to tweet about Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke's live solo performance, and Miley Cyrus and Ashley Tisdale joined Paris Hilton among those tweeting their Halloween costume plans for 2009.
There is loads more to check out, though, believe it or not, as James Gunn tweeted a pic of himself offering juice to a horse that may belong to Rainn Wilson and Jeremy Piven posted a behind-the-scene shot of Matt Damon from "Entourage." I can't even summarize it all today, I retweeted so many people. I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is your Twitter-Wood report for October 5, 2009.

Warmoth's out again today. He hates me, you see. Really though, he busts his rear for this column and he gets a break whenever he wants it. The Twitter-Wood was relatively quiet today, but not so quiet that I've got nothing for you. Aubrey O'Day made some noise with a fairly scandalous TwitPic, the one that earned today's Twitter Pic of the Day honors. There were some strong runner-up contenders however from Danny Masterson and Fred Durst.
On the text tweet front, Amber Benson talks about her painful future as a roller derby girl, Rainn Wilson makes a startling observation, Michael McKean comes up with a brilliant movie idea and Ice-t addresses a very personal rumor. Plus, Gil Birmingham from the totally unpopular "Twilight" series brings an update from the set of "Eclipse." I'm @geminibros and this is your Twitter-Wood for October 2, 2009. Have a kickass weekend, y'all.

Offbeat actress Zooey Deschanel married Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard at a private ceremony near Seattle, Washington, over the weekend. Deschanel, also has a new movie coming out in which she stars for the second time and could end up challenging Jennifer Aniston as the queen of romantic comedy. Only close friends, including her “Your Highness” co-stars James Franco and Natalie Portman, and family were invited to the ceremony. Deschanel’s breakthough role was in Cameron Crowe's “Almost Famous,” with Kate Hudson. It was her second film. She debuted in quirky comedy “Mumford” with Hope Davis and Jason Lee in 1999. But she was almost type-cast as a supporting actress until she won a starring role in “Yes Man” with Jim Carrey. »

For those of you who caught the Boise State game or "Big Brother" last night, I've got some good news for you. You can click right on ahead and find out what Seth Meyers and Shannon Elizabeth were thinking while you picked your jaw up off the floor in front of the TV. I'm in the prior camp.
Moving on, I've got a pile of photos on the Twitter-Wood playlist today. Selecting among all of Emmy Rossum's shots onstage with Counting Crows in Central Park proved too difficult, so I just grabbed one and suggest you head over to her account for the rest. Grabbing the Twitter Pic of the Day honors, however, was Brett Ratner, who posted a shot of himself with Michael Jackson and P. Diddy. There seems to be something different going on with each of them in the scene. Keep on going, and you'll see »

Another trailer that has been rudely missed from the HeyUGuys trailer section is that of (500) Days of Summer. I recently watched Yes Man which introduced me to actress Zooey Deschanel who, in my opinion was the best thing about that movie (controversial?!).
Deschanel's latest movie is that for (500) Days of Summer which also stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Clark Gregg, Minka Kelly and Matthew Gray Gubler and is directed by Marc Webb. I posted an exclusive interview with him earlier today which you can check out here.
(500) Days of Summer is out in the UK now! Check out the trailer after the jump.

Jason Winer, actor and director more commonly known for work he’s done on TV, is blasting his way onto the big screen. Winer and Warner Bros. Pictures are in talks for him to direct the novel adaptation of Shining City. Originally written by author Seth Greenland, Shining City centers on character Marcus Ripps who takes over his black sheep brother’s lucrative dry cleaning business. Before long, he is running one of the most popular escort services in West Hollywood. As the money starts pouring in, he revitalizes his marriage, buys a new Mercedes, and gives his son a bar mitzvah he’ll never forget. But, when his conscience—and the law—starts to catch up with him, Marcus must decide if his sudden financial windfall is worth all the risk.

Yes Man, starring Jim Carrey, is a great comedy movie for everyone who enjoys laughing with their family. Carrey plays the role of the banker Carl Allen who seems to be a wreck. He's unhappy with his job, can't get over being dumped, and whenever he's invited to do something fun and interesting he makes up an excuse and doesn't show up. One evening, he finally goes to a bar with his friend Peter (Bradley Cooper) who announces his engagement with Lucy (Sasha Alexander). Carl, who is feeling uncomfortable enough, sees his ex-wife on the other side of the bar. He tries to be as happy as he can, but he ends up bumping into a waitress and spilling all the drinks on her tray making quite a mess in the bar. The next day, Carl's boss Norman (Rhys Darby) tells him he's not being promoted. Carl's bad mood continues »

Not so funny for Universal
Despite rapid-fire penis jokes, a third act collapse and a rather melancholy theme, spit-wad shooter and sometime director Judd Apatow’s latest tour de fart, Funny People, landed at the No.1 position with an estimated $23.4 million.
Starring Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen, Funny People still has some room to grow if it wants to catch its astounding $75-$100 million budget during its theatrical run. (See, that’s what happens when you have Paul Reiser stop by for a cameo. The payroll goes through the roof.) Look at the studio projections (low-$20 million to the mid-$30 million) and Universal may have been gambling on Funny People having a Hangover-like run. Time will tell.
This also marks Sandler’s worst comedy debut since 2000’s Little Nicky. Yet compared to the Happy Gilmore star’s more serious films (Punch-Drunk Love, Spanglish… Going Overboard), Funny People was a weiner winner. »

We’re going to level with you, Boxwishers. This is one helluva quirky gadget spot this week, one that isn’t quite as essential or present in our everyday lives as say mobile phones, but hey – that’s what we’re all about here at Boxwish, spotting those weird and wonderful items from the varied world of movies. And though for some of you it’s arguably weird, we prefer to think of it as wonderful. Introducing the Gibson Earls Scruggs banjo as played by Will Ferrell’s eccentric palaeontologist Dr. Rick Marshall in new comedy Land of the Lost, out at UK cinemas from tomorrow.
We’ve had a few musical instruments crop up in our weekly gadget spot over the months, including the Fender Jazz Geddy Bass as seen in I Love You, Man, the Epiphone Hummingbird acoustic guitar from Yes Man and the Yamaha Motif XS8 keyboard »

Do you like hot tubs? Have you ever sat in your room wishing you could go back in time and make up for all of your short-comings as a teenager? Well, someone had the absolutely brilliant idea to combine both items and give us the awesomest movie idea to ever come out of Hollywood (well besides Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus) - Hot Tub Time Machine.
Director Steve Pink (Accepted) teams up with writers Josh Heald and Andrew Mogel to try and bring some laughs and originality to the Hot Tub Time Machine. This is Heald’s first credited writing attempt and the second for Mogel who wrote the screenplay for Jim Carrey’s Yes Man. These three guys may not have a lot of background in directing and writing but that hasn’t stopped the 34th Street Films movie from picking up some pretty big names to star.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel in 500 Days of Summer
Photo: Fox Searchlight Pictures Perhaps what I appreciate most about 500 Days of Summer is that it doesn't try too hard, which it very easily could have considering its fractured style of story-telling. As a result, it won't be looked at as quirky or even indie as much as it will simply be referred to as a good film. First time feature director Marc Webb has chosen a witty and down-to-earth romantic dramedy as his debut and he does it without stereotypes or catchphrases, and as a result it earns my respect. The film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Tom and Zooey Deschanel as Summer. Tom dreams of being an architect, but is stuck writing for a greeting card company, which does little for his career but makes good use of his belief in true love, a belief that comes into play as »
