In his first two feature films, Oscar-nominated director Jason Reitman established himself as an original, smart and funny storyteller known for his pitch-perfect commentaries on society. Reitman has a distinctive talent for taking provocative anti-heroes – a tobacco lobbyist in “Thank You for Smoking” and a pregnant teenager in the Oscar-winning “Juno” – and telling deeply human, funny and appealing stories in which these tricky characters defy expectations.
Reitman continues in this vein with his newest film, “Up in the Air,” the well-timed tale of Ryan Bingham (George Clooney), a corporate downsizer and consummate modern business traveler who, after years of staying happily airborne, suddenly finds himself ready to make a real connection. Based on the novel by Walter Kirn, the film also stars Vera Farmiga, Anna Kendrick and Danny McBride.

Anne Hathaway's representative addressed the rumor which linked the "Rachel Getting Married" star to the fourth installment of "Spider-Man" series. The publicist told EW, "There are no negotiations underway" but said nothing on whether the 27-year-old actress has met the movie's producer or not.
Anne is the latest star who has been rumored to star in "Spider-Man 4." Previously, Rachel McAdams, Romola Garai and Julia Stiles have also been connected to the upcoming movie. While Rachel has debunked the issue, there has been no confirmation from both Romola and Julia.
"Spider-Man 4" itself is scheduled to hit theater across United States on May 6, 2011. Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and Dylan Baker are confirmed to reprise their roles as Peter Parker, Mary Jane Watson and Doctor Curt Connors respectively. Sam Raimi, meanwhile, will once again be sitting behind the lens as its director.

Four awesome young actresses are reported/rumored to be positioning themselves for a possible role in the next Spiderman movie. The character in contention: The Black Cat.
But before we go any further, is this newsworthy? Definitely. While it maybe just a fictional character, Black Cat is quite interesting and intriguing. She's been related to Spiderman in the past and her descent into the world of crime is worth a good look. Has casting actually started? No confirmation yet from the studio, but with the names of the actresses being mentioned, fans are, indeed, getting excited.
Two of these fab actresses are known for both period and contemporary films - Anne Hathaway (Rachel Getting Married/Becoming Jane) and Romola Garai ( Inside I'm Dancing/Atonement), while the other two - Julia Stiles and Rachel McAdams are more 'inclined' to portray modern characters, or so it seems... As of this writing, McAdams is already out of contention. »

Robert Pattinson stars in the upcoming Allen Coulter drama "Remember Me," and believe it or not, he's not playing a vampire. A trailer for the family drama has debuted online, and it follows after the jump.
The film was co-written by "Rachel Getting Married" scribe Jenny Lumet, and the trailer looks intense. It also doesn't look that bad, actually. Even Pattinson promises a warmer performance in the lead role.
He plays Tyler, a rebellious young man who has a strained relationship with his father (Pierce Brosnan) ever since tragedy separated their family. One day, he meets Ally (Emilie de Ravin) through a twist of fate. »

The superhero rumor mill is getting awfully catty these days when it comes to "Spider-Man 4." Even with the Rachel McAdams as Black Cat rumor effectively squashed, there are still other reports pegging high-profile actresses for the potential "Spider-Man" nemesis — like Anne Hathaway, for example.
The "Rachel Getting Married" star is the latest actress to be named in connection with "Spider-Man 4." According to Deadline Hollywood Daily, Hathaway has been approached by the film's producers for a starring role. While Finke isn't as certain that Hathaway would be playing Felicia Hardy as the rest of the fan community, she does know that the actress won't take over the role of Mary Jane.
"All I know is that she's wanted for a starring role, and she won't replace Kirsten Dunst who's also cast in the Spidey fourquel," Finke reports.
To be fair, Finke has had some luck with Marvel casting scoops in the past, »

Anne Hathaway could be turning gears from drama to superhero genre. Recently, the Academy Award-nominated actress for "Rachel Getting Married" has been linked to the much awaited "Spider-Man 4" as Deadline Hollywood reported that producers have approached her to star in the film.
What part she will take on if the story is true remains undisclosed. However, there is chance that the 27-year-old may be portraying the role of Black Cat. Deadline Hollywood's Nikki Finke made notes that Hathaway is "wanted for a starring role", and she refused to replace Kirsten Dunst who is set to reprise her Mary Jane Watson character.
The co-star of Meryl Streep in "The Devil Wears Prada" isn't the only actress linked to the Black Cat role. Previously, Rachel McAdams had to debunk reports suggesting her as the strong contender for the part. "That's a total rumor, I have to say," she told Entertainment Weekly. »

This news was reported late last month but seems to have been overlooked by many news sites. According to the NY Times, Jonathan Demme (director of Silence of the Lambs and more recently Rachel Getting Married) has purchased the rights to Eggers' book and plans to adapt it into a cartoon. Today's news (via Slash Film) that Dave Eggers Zeitoun is to be adapted for the big-screen in animation by veteran director Jonathan Demme may come as something of a surprise to those who have followed the Oscar-winning director's hit and miss career.
We should confess that before Rachel Getting Married came along we'd all but given up on Demme following a string of films that were (at best) bad and (at times) so absolutely terrible as to destroy our faith in cinema as either entertainment or art. But his last film was fantastic and so we can do nothing but look forward to the prospect of the Silence of the Lambs director taking on hot-as-you-like reporter, publisher, novelist and scriptwriter (Where The Wild Things Are) Eggers' remarkable non-fiction tale of a New Orleans family's experiences of the devestating 2005 hurricane and its aftermath.
