Gwyneth Paltrow Marks Ten Years Of Iron Man And Pepper Potts With Cute Pic

While Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts isn’t a hugely important part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s always nice to see her pop up in the movies. That said, her five year absence after Iron Man 3 led some to conclude that Marvel Studios had decided that it simply wasn’t affordable to continue her contract. That’s why it was such a surprise to see Pepper in the final scenes of this summer’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, having apparently been busy running Stark Industries while its owner runs around endangering and then saving the world.

Potts is also due to turn up in next year’s Avengers: Infinity War and has recently been spending some time with Robert Downey Jr. At least, judging by this Instagram picture she posted earlier today, which came with the caption: Ten years of #pepperony

Justice League surpasses Logan at the worldwide box office

Justice League may have underwhelmed at the box office, but we do have one bit of good news for Warner Bros., as the DC team-up is not going to finish the year as the lowest-grossing live-action superhero movie.

Going into this weekend, Justice League has pushed its worldwide haul to $625 million, surpassing 20th Century Fox’s Wolverine swansong Logan, which earned $616.8 million earlier in the year. Of course, Logan cost less than a third of Justice League to produce, with a budget of $97 million against the DC blockbuster’s $300 million.

Early reports had claimed that Justice League would need to gross around $650 million to break even, while Man of Steel’s $668 million is the target should it not want to end up the lowest-grossing chapter of the DC Extended Universe. With Star Wars: The Last Jedi now gobbling up ticket sales, it will be interesting to see if it manages to limp to that figure.

Disney Wolverine Reboot Inevitable, While X-23 Spin-Off Is in Danger

Disney Wolverine Reboot Inevitable, While X-23 Spin-Off Is in Danger
We reported in October that, after months of rumors, an X-23 spin-off of the R-rated blockbuster Logan is happening, but that may not be the case anymore. Logan director James Mangold confirmed in October that a script for this X-23 spin-off is already being worked on, but thanks to the new massive merger between Disney and 20th Century Fox, that project is seemingly dead in the water, as Disney must decide which projects and franchises to move forward with, and which to abandon. While X-23 may be dead, there are already executives who are "relishing" rebooting the Wolverine franchise, and the opportunity to cast a new Logan/Wolverine, after Hugh Jackman retired from the character following Logan.

While there is no official confirmation that the X-23 spin-off is dead, it is certainly the most expendable of the projects on Fox's superhero slate, since it is still very early on in

X-23, Multiple Man And Other X-Men Projects May Be At Risk Following Disney-Fox Merger

Let it be known that the newly-unveiled Disney-Fox merger is a double-edged sword.

On the one hand, Marvel regaining control of X-Men, Deadpool, and the Fantastic Four is enough to leave tongues wagging and wallets begging – make no mistake, Marvel Studios was the big winner coming out of yesterday’s historic announcement – but there is now a growing uncertainty over Fox’s broader X-Men strategy.

As things stand, 2018 will herald three movies from the X-family: The New Mutants, an untitled Deadpool sequel, and the hotly-anticipated Dark Phoenix. But look further down the pipeline and you’ll begin to uncover a series of big-name projects still gestating in the formative stages of development – Gambit, X-Force, X-23 and the James Franco-led Multiple Man.

It’s a tantalizing, wonderfully diverse lineup of superhero content, but The Hollywood Reporter brings word that some of those projects may be at risk following Disney’s acquisition.

‘The Last Jedi’ Will Be the Biggest Movie of 2017, Even as It Leaves Some Records Untouched

‘The Last Jedi’ Will Be the Biggest Movie of 2017, Even as It Leaves Some Records Untouched
The first shows for “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” begin tonight, and there’s every expectation that is will be the biggest-opening, top-grossing domestic release of 2017. At a minimum, we’re looking at a $200 million opening, with $225 million very likely.

With strong holiday playtime following the first 10 days of release, a multiple of at least three times its opening is possible, which could propel to the domestic take to around $700 million.

Yes, it’s going to be huge — but there’s a few records it might not beat. Here (with adjusting numbers to 2017 values) are some comparable numbers that “Jedi” will easily best, and a few that seem unlikely.

Top domestic grosses of 2017: Yes

“The Last Jedi” should find the opening numbers easy to beat, and it’s hard to imagine it won’t be the best-performing movie of the year.

Did Gwyneth Paltrow Drop a Big Avengers 4 Spoiler?

Did Gwyneth Paltrow Drop a Big Avengers 4 Spoiler?
It looks like Gwyneth Paltrow may have just given away a pretty big spoiler for Avengers 4. Until the very end of Spider-Man: Homecoming this year, it had been a while since Pepper Potts had actually appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But she's poised to return in Avengers 4 and it doesn't look like it's going to be business as usual for Tony Stark's main squeeze. We're (probably) going to see Pepper like we've never seen her before.

Warning: possible spoilers for Avengers 4 ahead. Gwyneth Paltrow is quite active on social media and, since she's been filming Avengers 4 lately, that means she's been posting to her various social platforms from the set. Recently, she posted a couple of photos that seem innocuous enough, at least at first glance, but they're actually quite revealing. If you look closely, Paltrow is wearing a motion capture suit. Why would a character who normally walks

Another Fan Poster For Avengers Vs. X-Men Tees Up The Crossover To End All Crossovers

Avengers: Infinity War, Justice League and Marvel’s Civil War – three mind-bogglingly huge movie crossovers that represent years of groundwork and intricate plotting. But they all pale in comparison to Avengers Vs. X-Men.

Originally dreamed up by Brian Michael Bendis, Matt Fraction, Jason Aaron, Ed Brubaker and Jonathan Hickman in 2012, the comic brought together a whole host of famous faces – namely Captain America, Cyclops, Hulk, Iceman, Iron Man, Magneto, Spider-Man, Storm – for what it turned out to be a crossover event like no other. And thanks to Disney’s newly-unveiled takeover of 20th Century Fox, a film version of Avengers Vs. X-Men may soon become a reality.

It’s yet to be formally announced, of course, and until Disney and Fox iron out the kinks, it’s best approaching any development with a heightened degree of skepticism. Because let’s face it: an acquisition of this size will likely take

Fantastic Four, X-Men Can Team With Avengers Thanks to Fox, Disney Deal

Fantastic Four, X-Men Can Team With Avengers Thanks to Fox, Disney Deal
Disney’s $52.4 billion agreement to buy 21st Century Fox’s entertainment assets is good news for fanboys and fangirls.

The company was quick to tout that the pact “provides Disney with the opportunity to reunite the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool with the Marvel family under one roof and create richer, more complex worlds of inter-related characters and stories that audiences have shown they love.” In other words, that means that Wolverine and Iron Man could soon be teaming up to save the world from alien invaders looking for new worlds to exploit, Nazi scientists shaking off the after-effects of a long cryogenic freeze, or whatever fresh planetary threat that Kevin Feige, dean of all thing McU, can concoct.

In a call with investors and analysts shortly after the deal was unveiled, Disney chief Bob Iger referenced those possibilities by saying, “Bringing Disney and Fox together will combine some of the world’s most iconic entertainment franchises

Google Confirms Wonder Woman As Most-Searched Comic Book Movie Of 2017, But It Takes Home Top Prize

Wonder Woman is many things to many people – a modern feminist icon, an inspired tale of heroism, Gal Gadot’s launch pad to superstardom…you name it.

It’s also the highest-rated comic book movie of the year, according to Rotten Tomatoes, which placed Wonder Woman in the same bracket as Logan, Thor: Ragnarok and Spider-Man: Homecoming. But Patty Jenkins’ critically-adorned origins movie reigned supreme in another ranking: Google’s Year in Search for 2017.

And so, after crowning Avengers: Infinity War as the year’s most popular trailer, Google has revealed Wonder Woman to be the most-searched comic book movie of 2017. And we can’t say we’re surprised.

Back in June, the Patty Jenkins-directed period piece took the world by storm with its heartfelt story and instantly likable characters – the chemistry between Gal Gadot and Chris Pine was arguably worth the price of admission alone – while word of

Disney Led the Charge in November as 2017 Looks to Close Strong

Disney Led the Charge in November as 2017 Looks to Close Strong
The year saw a lift from November box office grosses as this past month was only the third time ever November receipts totaled more than $1 billion, led by Disney and Marvel's release of Thor: Ragnarok, which delivered nearly 28% of the month's total. Heading into the November, 2017 was trailing 2016 by 5.3%, but coming out of it this year was 4.4% behind 2016 thanks to what was the third largest November ever and a 5.1% improvement over November last year. Disney led the month — after not having released a film since Cars 3 in mid-June — with two new wide releases in Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok and Pixar's Coco, both of which have been overwhelmingly successful. Ragnarok was the month's highest grossing title with $281.7 million and Coco delivered the fourth largest three- and five-day Thanksgiving weekend opening ever and generated over $82 million in its first nine days in release. Coco's total has since climbed over $135 million domestically and over $400 million globally,

Why Wonder Woman's Golden Globe Snub Is a Huge Deal

Nominations for the 2018 Golden Globes were announced on Monday, and much to our surprise, Wonder Woman isn't included on the list. Despite being the biggest movie of the Summer and one that set a new ground for female directors worldwide, no nod of recognition is being given, making it one of the biggest snubs of award season. DC's Wonder Woman raked in a staggering $103 million on opening weekend, skipping past the $400-million mark for a chart-topping domestic total. Beating out other big-name titles like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming, it became the highest-grossing movie of the Summer. Standing behind the live-action depiction of Beauty and the Beast, the movie remains the second largest box office haul of the year in North America. It has become a feminist fan favorite as well as a massive success amongst critics. Ultimately, Wonder Woman proved that a strong, fierce female

Watch: Next Spider-Man Film Features Afro-Latino Web-Slinger Miles Morales
When Spider-Man: Homecoming was released in July, the star-studded film was praised for its cast’s diversity. With its 2018 animated installment, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, the franchise continues to break ground by bringing to the screen Marvel Comics’s first Afro-Latino web-slinger, Miles Morales.

In a trailer for the forthcoming movie, slated to premiere in December 2018, Morales, a teenager of African-American and Puerto Rican descent, is seen visiting what seems to be the grave of the original Spider-Man, Peter Parker, and practicing his swinging skills across New York City skyscrapers. But, in a twist, more than one Spider-Man shares the screen.

Woody Harrelson in Discussions to Join the Cast of New Venom Movie

Tom Hardy could have some new company in the upcoming Venom movie, as it's being reported that Woody Harrelson is in discussions to join the cast of Sony's movie about one of Spider-Man's most popular villains (or antihero, depending on how you view the character).

Word on Harrelson's potential involvement with Venom comes from Variety, who report that Harrelson would play a "henchman of sorts," although Sony has yet to officially comment on the casting.

Harrelson would join a cast that includes Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, a man who becomes linked with an alien Symbiote that turns him into Venom, one of the ultimate villains in the Spider-Man universe. Although Venom and the Symbiote have a big influence on Spider-Man in the Marvel comic books, this film would take place outside of Marvel's Cinematic Universe, which includes the most recent appearance by the web-slinger in this year's Spider-Man: Homecoming.
