3 hours ago | ET Canada | See recent ET Canada news »

Famke Janssen has portrayed powerful mutant Jean Grey five times onscreen, since the first “X-Men” film and continuing all the way through to 2014’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past”. Yet for the 2016 followup “X-Men: Apocalypse”, which focused on younger versions of the characters in the 1980s, producers decided to “go in another direction,” as […] »

X-Men: Dark Phoenix Star Says Film Is Faithful To Comics, Promises Fans Will Love It

5 hours ago | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

The end of X-Men: Apocalypse teased that the franchise would be stepping more in-line with the comics going forward, as the final shots featured Professor X’s team in some largely faithful comic book costumes. This looks to continue in the follow-up, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, as one of its stars has now promised fans that they’ll be “very happy” with what the movie has to offer.

Alexandra Shipp, who’s taken over from Halle Berry to play a younger version of Storm since Apocalypse, spoke to Deadline about the film and cited director Simon Kinberg as a big reason why Dark Phoenix will be “very accurate” to the comics. As you’ll no doubt know, Kinberg has long been involved with the X-Men movie franchise in the role of screenwriter and producer, but this is his first stint in the director’s chair.

Interview: Co-Writer/Director Tyler MacIntyre & Co-Star Alexandra Shipp on the Power of the Tragedy Girls and Sequel Potential

9 hours ago | DailyDead | See recent DailyDead news »

Earlier this year, Daily Dead had the opportunity to speak with several folks involved with the slasher comedy Tragedy Girls while in Austin at SXSW 2017 (which is where it celebrated its world premiere). But now that the film is set to enjoy its theatrical run this Friday, courtesy of Gunpowder & Sky, we thought we’d catch up again with co-writer/director Tyler MacIntyre, as well as with one-half of the film's titular anti-heroes, Alexandra Shipp (X-Men: Apocalypse, Straight Outta Compton), to talk Tragedy Girls one last time.

During our interview, Shipp and MacIntyre discussed their experiences collaborating together and digging into both Shipp’s character McKayla as well as the dynamic between her and her Bff, Sadie (played by Deadpool and The Exorcist TV series' Brianna Hildebrand). They also chatted about managing the tone of the wildly unhinged teenagers and what they’d like to do if there happens to »

‘Tragedy Girls’: The Cast Reveals How the Film Is Every Family’s Worst Nightmare (Exclusive)

15 hours ago | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

How far would you go for social media followers? It’s a question many millennials have probably asked themselves -- but hopefully, they won’t go as far as the leads of the upcoming horror-comedy Tragedy Girls.

The film tells the story of two death-obsessed teenage girls who embark on a killing spree in their small town to draw attention to their social media accounts, and its two stars, Brianna Hildebrand and Alexandra Shipp, spoke with Et about how frighteningly close to reality this concept is.

“I don’t think it’s that far-fetched,” Shipp admitted. “I think this generation is moving toward something like this in a sense.”

“It definitely says a lot about the power of social media,” Hildebrand agreed. “It is definitely not too far off to think a young person would do something like this for likes and attention.”

“I think it only takes one person to go that far,” Shipp added.

Bohemian Rhapsody is shaping up to be something quite special. If there's one reason to look forward to a biopic about a famous musician, it's that those movies tend to come with mind-blowing performances. Think of Joaquin Phoenix in Walk the Line and Jamie Foxx in Ray. It looks like we could be in for another such performance next year, as Mr. Robot star Rami Malek has completely transformed into Queen frontman Freddie Mercury for the upcoming biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody. Thanks to the latest set photo, we have another look at just how uncanny the resemblance is.

Director Bryan Singer (X-Men: Days of Future Past) shared the latest set photo from Bohemian Rhapsody to his Instagram account. In it, we see Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury performing on stage with the rest of Queen. If one didn't know that this picture was from a movie that is being made, it »

MaryAnn’s quick take… A clichéd loose-cannon cop is on a case of murdered women in faux Norway. And it’s not even a decent procedural. Sexist, pointless, thoroughly awful. I’m “biast” (pro): love the cast; love a good murder mystery

I’m “biast” (con): nothing

I have not read the source material

He’s a drunk — like, a seriously falling-down, passed-out-in-the-streets drunk — and a walking personal disaster. His ex just can’t live with him anymore and refuses to tell their teenaged son that he is, in fact, the kid’s dad, he’s that unreliable, but she nevertheless continues to find him irresistibly attractive. Is X-Men Villain Candra Set To Feature In Gambit?

16 October 2017 8:55 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Now that X-Men spinoff movie Gambit has finally been confirmed as moving forward, with Channing Tatum in the titular role, speculation is beginning to swirl around the identity of the villain of the piece. While there are a number of possibilities – including Mister Sinister, whose presence was teased at the end of X-Men: Apocalypse – hopes are building that the movie might provide the big screen debut of Gambit arch-enemy, Candra.

With female villainy being brought front and centre by the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe outing Thor: Ragnarok, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that 20th Century Fox might take that superhero lead and embrace a primary antagonist that’s also a woman. Doing so in this case would deliver a character who would make her debut alongside a new version of the card-throwing mutant – and rightly so.

Deadpool 2 And X-Men: Dark Phoenix Wrap Production

14 October 2017 6:03 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Fox’s X-Men cinematic universe is moving along swimmingly, it seems. Though the last entry into the main series was a bomb – X-Men: Apocalypse – things have really turned around since then thanks to the smashing success of Logan, which re-ignited interest in the mutants. Now, with the studio going all in on the franchise, there’s much to get excited about in the very near future.

Just this week, we finally got our first peek at Josh Boone’s spinoff The New Mutants, which looks absolutely fantastic and today, we’re hearing that both Deadpool 2 and X-Men: Dark Phoenix have wrapped production ahead of their 2018 release dates. The latter is expected to be with us on November 2nd, while the former will arrive on June 1st.

Along with the aforementioned New Mutants, which is due on April 13th, they’ll make up what’ll no doubt be a huge »

Ryan Lambie Oct 13, 2017

The director of Sausage Party has reportedly boarded the animated reboot of The Addams Family...

They're creepy, they're kooky, and obviously, altogether ooky. But for over 20 years now, The Addams Family has remained firmly away from the silver screen - the last we saw of America's spookiest (fictional) family was 1993's sequel, Addams Family Values

Thanks to MGM, however, Morticia, Gomez and their unholy offspring will be making a triumphant return over the next couple of years - albeit in animated form. Word of the reboot has bubbled away for some time now, but it looks as though things are moving forward: The Hollywood Reporter has revealed the news that Conrad Vernon, best known as the director of Sausage Party, will be overseeing the project.

Michael Fassbender has been going through a bit of a rough, cinematic patch since “Steve Jobs.” The blockbuster “X-Men: Apocalypse” wasn’t what fans were looking for, Disney pretty much gave up on the (underrated) “The Light Between Oceans,” the indie “Trespass Against Us” didn’t connect, Terrence Malick fatigue hit (the also underrated) “Song To Song,” while “Alien: Covenant” underwhelmed.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix Will Be A Two-Part Movie

Actress Olivia Munn is currently busy promoting The Lego Ninjago Movie, for which she provides one of the voices. But, being also a cast member of the X-Men cinematic universe, she’s inevitably facing questioning about the upcoming X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

Written and directed by long-time X-Men franchise collaborator Simon Kinberg (in his directorial debut), the film is highly anticipated, but shrouded in secrecy. In conversation with Collider, however, Olivia Munn appears to have revealed that the film will be the first of two parts.

“I don’t know what I’m supposed to say. I’m supposed to be vague. That’s my answer. I’m horrible at that. It’s like a two parter, this movie. That’s more than I’ve said, in general. I don’t know why people have to be so secretive.”

Gambit Movie Details Reveal a Big Heist and Mr. Sinister

The Gambit movie, despite a great many setbacks, is still reportedly in development at Fox. Channing Tatum is still attached and seems quite enthusiastic about it, but after director Doug Liman left, things changed quite a bit. They decided to take the project back to square one, which may not be a bad thing since the successes of Deadpool and Logan will allow for them to take more chances. With all of that said, some rumored plot details for the Gambit movie have arrived online and they are pretty insane.

Splash Report brings us these rumored plot details for the Gambit movie, which promises that the movie will essentially be Ocean's 11 within the X-Men universe. The plot also promises that fan-favorite villain Mr. Sinister will finally be making his big screen debut, assuming this plot does in any way resemble what we ultimately see when the movie eventually gets made. »
